    An SDK (Software Development Kit) is a tool used in building apps for a specific platform(s), while a Developer OS is usually a stripped down OS meant for Devs to test their apps on.

    The Gold SDK is the finalised version of the OS. Therefore developers can develop for that OS safe in the knowledge that their app will be compatible with any later variations.
