No offence, but I think you might have missed the point.

It's not which App *you* use that matters, it's which App everyone else is using whom you might wish to contact... and, in the majority of cases that's WhatsApp.

    Actually, I agree with you.

I'm enough of a dinosaur to believe that phones are for *verbal* conversations. My son and all his cousins are gracious enough to pretend that they don't think I'm hopelessly stuck in the past!

If you need hub integration, SMS, BBM and Facebook. If you need something longterm and switching platforms/Android apps isn't an option I'd avoid messaging apps that haven't been updated in a while, there's always the risk that they could stop working.

At the end of the day though, it's all down to what your contacts are using.

    Me and Mr Fen do!

I recall the whithering look my boy gave me when I suggested he send me an email. Apparently that's another dinosaur technology used only by old guys...

Guess not, I'm too busy texting. But I'm sure they are cheaper then a cell phone bill.

Yes, we still know how to use our mouths to actually talk, instead of just a hole to shovel food into.

forget bb10. i will eventually. once whatsapp quits bb10 for good, not that i even like whatsapp. i just figure that whatsapp has been more loyal to BB10 than even BlackBerry. what other native messaging app will provide a decent experience with regular updates? and i don't count bbm, as it's not popular enough (though i like it most of all).

Be careful of what you are burning to achieve those Smoke Signals as the EPA might come down on you.

As others have said.... you'll have to use what your friends are using, of you will be the one left out. Unless you are the center of attention within your group.
