Is it just me, or is there no visual indication on the lock screen that actually depicts the phone is locked. As far as I can tell, the only way to know is when you begin to swipe up and you can see the transparent padlock at the base of the screen. It would be nice if that padlock was displayed on the lockscreen when the device is actually locked

You mean the lack of home screen indicators, the persistent battery indicator, the time not being in the top status bar, and when applicable the notification icons on the left and the lock screen message isn't enough?

Are u serious? There are plenty of spaces on the screen to put a icon to show you the device is locked, without obstructing anything

I'm not hating, simply stating that there are various visual clues that do indicate your screen is locked.

You are 110% wrong. No other time are those conditions I mentioned on the screen all at once. Do you even know BB10 at all?

    Well.. tbh
When my device is password locked... I think it's dumb af that my messages content would still appear on screen (ftr, at least on my device... calendar entries have never shown the detaiks if the appointment when device is password locked always says "1 upcoming" etc.)

In 10.3 you can use a separate image for the lock screen. You could easily put a padlock shaped watermark or something on the image you set for the lock screen.

This would definitely be a useful function.

I sometimes swipe up thinking it's locked and need to type in my password but find out its actually unlocked since the 5mins timeout I set hasn't passed yet.

Neither screen is a unlocked screen. If it was unlocked you would see your home screen or app screen.
The problem with this thread, is that you guys are confusing locked/ unlocked with password protected which are 2 completely different functions
Lock screen is what you see in the above screen shots and has nothing to do with password protection

OK, I'm completely mistaken, but because you aren't describing it properly. The screen is locked regardless if there a password or not; what you mean to say is that there is no difference between when the screen is locked and password protected vs when the screen is locked an not password protected.

Well I guess I could've described it better, but technically my description was accurate, because when you hold the power button, the option to "lock" only appears if you have a device password. So a locked phone and lock screen are two different things. Ergo, saying that there is no evidence on the "lockscreen" that depicts that the phone is "locked" is correct
