Is Amazon Kindle again pulling out of BlackBerry 10?
They announced app for PlayBook but then never made it happen (I emailed them a zillion times). Haven't heard anything about them supporting BB 10. I've emailed them already but vague non-committal response.

Although, I think there are now a bunch of e-reader apps even more capable than Kindle and can read multiple formats such as Mobi, AZW, .EPUB etc.
I side loaded Kindle and Kobo on my Z10 and it works great!

There are definitely third-party ebook reader apps that surpass Kindle in terms of UI and formats, but only Kindle can open ebooks bought from Amazon due to DRM. Whispersync is another advantage of Kindle I appreciate (does Nook have similar feature?). Generally competitive pricing is also a plus.

Lack of Kindle app will be a significant factor for me. I can tolerate the absence of Skype, Instagram, and/or Netflix, but not Kindle.

Same for me. I can easily overlook Skype, Instagram, NetFlix, Hulu but not Kindle. Good thing though is Sideloaded version of Kindle works just fine on BB 10. So, no issues there. I don't care if the app is native or Android port as long as it provides a good user experience and Kindle does. So, I am a happy camper.

For other 'nice to have apps'. Some are here, some are coming. Plus, Android player update is also coming very soon. It'd be updated to v 4.1 (Jelly Bean) so that'd allow even more Android ports to work on BlackBerry. So, my guess is, apps are going to become a non-issue within next 30 to 45 days. Some apps will be officially ported and some will be sideloaded. Either way, apps would become non-issue once Android player run-time is updated from current Ginerbread 2.2/2.3 to Jelly Bean (4.1).

For me, I am already a happy camper because I've got kindle!
See this thread for info on Kindle sideloading: http://forums.crackberry.com/android...thread-766811/

The BlackBerry Android Player should never have been brought to BlackBerry OS 10. It allows developers to be lazy and not develop native BlackBerry OS 10 applications. Shame on you Michael Clewely, Alec Saunders, and Thorsten Heins.

I disagree. It allows developers to test out a new platform with minimal effort. Simply port your Android app. And if there are enough downloads, develop a native version. It also allows BB to ramp-up fast, attract more customers. More customers = more users = more downloads = developer interest in developing native app.
