It used to be there on the leaks as well. When I press the volume buttons they only increase one bar. I have to press it continuously to make it max or low. It was not there on 10.2.1

No, everyone is complaining that OS 10.3 has reduced the volume levels in their devices.
Posted using my BlackBerry Z30.
No issues for me. One long press does the job.
Did you do an OTA update?
This sucks, I used to just have to hold the volume up or down. Now I have to repeatedly press to obtain the same result. Could you imagine if we had to do the same with the power windows on our cars?!? No, didn't think so... C'mon BlackBerry software engineers - fix please!! Ahem - meaning ASAP !
Z30STA100-5/10.3.1.1154
Yeah and I have to repeatedly press them to increase the volume. One press doesnt get the job done...
Ofcourse I did. I am on the latest version, I have seen alot of people with this problem.
Wait. Why are you still on 10.3.1.1154? Thats a leak.
Did you do the OTA update? I had the problem in the leak but I also have it on the official version.
OK, so I figured my Z30 was just crapping out.... good to know it's not a hardware issue as my warranty is over. Nice if we have an update that patches this too.
no such issue here.

Yeah thx, did the reboots etc... prob only shows up on the Z30, not the Z10.
Noticing a few weird glitches now. Still love the update & view these as software issues that hopefully will be patched
Tried it many times

It wasn't there on 10.2.1

Wait for the corrected update

Mine works fine. No issue with the volume button.

OS 10.3 sucks. I prefer OS 10.2 because:
- better calendar
- better sound and notification settings
- better phone operation
- better BlackBerry clock
- easier to adjust sound
- better camera; able to operate shutter anywhere on the screen
I want 10.2 back in my Z30.

Lol. I never knew you could long press to raise the volume in any application
I do know if you do a long press while listening to music it changes tracks
STL-4. 10.3.1.2582
It happened because you are using volume up and down buttons for music shortcuts: long hold up - skip song forward, long hold down - skip song back.
Sorry, you can't have everything ;)
You can control volume buttons behaviour in settings-main volume

No problems on mine.

Why Blackberry? Because I can!
Same problem here.

Have had that problem since 10.2.1
But for some reason I can long press in the maps app.
I take solace that one app still works
This happens when you have certain apps installed. The last one that did me in was "Relaxing Music". Happened before once or twice as well and I found it was always apps that are sound or music related. Don't know if this is the case for everyone with this issue but after deleting and resetting, mine was fine after. People I know said they would just do a hard reset with volume keys whenever this issue would arise and that fixed it for a while until it would return and they'd just repeat in an interval of a few days or whatever.

Same problem here on Z30 on 10.3.1.2558. No problem on 10.2 OS version so definitely a software issue.
Do you guys have the media key music shortcuts enabled?
If you do have them enabled then, while playing music you will not be able to long press to increase or reduce the volume, as the long press will trigger the rewind/skip command.
I have mine enabled and as long as I don't have any media playing (even on browser) I can long press to increase/decrease volume. However as soon as any media starts playing (and I see the little play icon at the top), I can no longer long press to change volume.
Some media (like youtube in the browser) don't even respond to the music shortcuts, but the OS still blocks the long press volume adjustment functionality.
