I made a comment earlier in the Verizon roll out thread pondering if John Chen had pulled rank to get an earlier release date for 10.2.1.XXX.

To elaborate I am curious to know if Mr. Chen, in his strategy to change BlackBerry's overall poor reputation right now, is to attack low hanging fruit.

If from a high level view one made a list of complaints against BlackBerry, on the top of that list would be that BlackBerry traditionally over promises and under delivers on just about everything.

Kicking out a much anticipated software release to a market that would be least expecting and potentially most rewarding as a customer, and way ahead of the announced roll out, would be the right place to start the turn around, don't you think?

I'm not surprised that Verizon was one of the first to roll it out. They seem to have skipped 10.2.0 completely, so they've probably been waiting for BlackBerry to hurry up and get 10.2.1 out the door.
