    Hello

I just sold a Passport to someone, but when she tries to enter her BlackBerry ID, it says 'Anti-theft feature is on. Please enter the ID when configurating the phone'.
The problem is the phone isn't connect to my ID anymore.

I sold a Q10 in the same condition last week and the user had no problem.

Do you have an idea about this ?

    Thank you.

You mean you went online and removed that device from your BlackBerry Protect?

Yes, this is what I did.

The phone isn't linked to me anymore. But still, it won't log in with her ID. Maybe it takes some time to be effective ?

    The whole story :

I bought an used Passport on Ebay. I entered my BlackBerry ID, everything went fine. Then I sell it, so I did a SIC multiwipe and run an autoloader.

She received the phone and said it wouldn't connect because of anti-theft feature. I go to protect.blackberry.com and I see the Passport linked in my terminals, when i'm sure I deleted it before the SIC multiwipe. So I deleted it maybe one hour ago, and she still can't connect with her ID.

Have you tried seeing if the device will accept your old BB I.D.?

I'd have the buyer try a hard reset. It should poll the server again on boot and hopefully realise that it is no longer connected to BlackBerry Protect.

What is a SIC wipe? settings/security/wipe?

If you did that without using external agents(cfp) etc, it should be fine.

One bizarre thing is I keep deleting the Passport from my account, and it keeps coming back.

Then the buyer must have used your BBID and got into the device, which is turning on Protect from there.

I really don't know what she's doing. She must have logged into the device with your BBID after entering it already once to get by anti-theft.

Try using Protect to locate the device with GPS and find out.

Yes, I gave her my BlackBerry ID. So she could enter in the phone with my ID and deleted the link with the phone directly from there.

But it seems my BlackBerry ID is now changed from my mail adress to her.

I can't connect on my BlackBerry ID with my adress mail and password.

I really don't know why it doesn't work when all went perfect with the Q10 when I did the exact same things.

You're in trouble now. You should have never given away your BBID.

If she changed it, she owns it now. You're going to have to call her and sort this all out.

She needs to give the new BBID back to you so you can then lock her out and change it back.

She will then have to do a security wipe on her device to set it up again from scratch with her own BBID.

So, I relinked the BlackBerry ID with my email adresse because she wasn't smart enough to change the password I gave her.

She seems quite a nice person in fact. I'll call her tomorrow to sort this out clearly.

The only thing I want to know is how I can delete the link between my ID and the phone and then how she can use it with her ID.

Change your BBID password. And then remove her again from your Protect.

    Maybe try this way.
First login with your blackberry ID in the passport and disable the protect in the phone.
Then delete the phone associated to your ID from BlackBerry Protect website.
    Now do a SIC wipe.

This process might do the trick..

I changer my password and deleted her from my Protect.

Tomorrow when I call her will she be able to connect to the Passport with her ID or she has to do a security wipe or a Link reset before that and start from scratch ?

She needs to do another security wipe. Since she is no longer associated with your Protect, she can start fresh with her own BBID.

    She should.

What I think happened is when you gave here your BB ID she only edited the email/password, but didn't actually delete the BB ID, hence why you were still seeing it under protect.

The only way she can now use her own BB ID is by going into settings, security, and then wiping the phone. It'll ask here to enter the BBID/password associated with the phone, which is yours, since she logged back in. After the wipe, she should be able to log in using her own I'd.

What are you talking about he wants to re-use and sell the device without protect on it. Nothing about reloading.

still you should do a settings/security/wipe then auto-load.

If I understand, when I call her, I ask her to log in the Passport with my ID, then to disable Protect on her Passport, then I deleted it from the website of my Protect ID account and then I ask her to do a security wipe ? After that, normally, she'll be able to enter her ID at the beginning of the configuration when the security wipe is done ?

Just tell her to do a wipe. She is already logged out of Protect.

She's already using her Passport - no need to "log in".
