I have a quick question should I upgrade to the official 10.2 or stick with my current version?

What is the difference between 10.2 and 10.2.1, minus seeing my PIN watermarked. Also, how do I go to the official leak keeps saying I have latest version. Lastly if I decide to stay with leak can I just restore the app data from my previous backup before the upgrade .

    Apologies for all the questions.

The official software version 10.2.0.424 is older than what you have. its OS is 10.2.0.1791 and you have the 10.2.1.x series.

You only need the official if you want bloatware...sorry I had to. no really, the only reason for official would be service -specific items that don't work on leaks, like visual voice mail as only one example, or if you need warranty work for whatever reason. Other than that, it is your choice. It's too easy to revert to not worry about it...imo

And as far as getting the official with a leak installed, use link to go to factory and then update.

Beauty, ya currently I mean I'm happy with 10.2.1 I'd just like to know what the difference is. And I wish I could just restore my contacts as using contact x didn't keep the contact links in tact

575 has some cosmetic changes, a few functional changes, but many of them can be overloaded (e.g. clock, camera, sysmon etc) on 10.2.0 official (and I have.)

Unfortunately 575 also has some serious bugs, including stability problems. I get an average of a crash every two days. That I can't live with, so I'm back on what is now-official 10.2.0, as that last leak was completely stable (and is now release code.)

If 10.2.1 included S/MIME I'd put up with it, but it doesn't and as such the changes are incremental enough that IMHO it's not worth the stability hit.

Can you sideload Android apps on both versions (10.2 or 10.2.1), without using a debug token?

You are off topic. I suggest you start a new thread to get results...just my 2 cents...

The main differences between 10.2 and 10.2.1 are as follows:

10.2.0.x is now official and fairly stable. It's not perfect and there is still room for improvements. Carriers will honor warranty for the official version where applicable.

10.2.1.x is now in beta or testing stage so it may have bugs and stability issues. You are installing at your own risk here. However, if you encounter major issues you can get help from various BlackBerry forums. You can always revert to an earlier and more stable version. Carriers may not honor warranty.

I've been using 575 since it came out and havent experienced any random crashes. I did have a rapid battery drain once, but that was it.
