    Hi,

Yes, you can. Having installed the runtime from BBW, and rebooted, my Z10 was still prompting me to update to 2876 @ 85MB. I guessed from some of the other posts, that this is where the "tiny" 56kb update comes from; when the device attempts to download the OTA update, it "sees" the higher 132 runtime already installed, and just downloads a small "config."? file or similar to update the phone's OS and runtime version.

I "OK'd" the OTA update, saw the download just do 56kb, and then confirm the software OS was all up to date. I rebooted again, and checked the runtime again, and it was still the new 132 version installed.

I did notice however that within the first 5 minutes of the phone being "up", I had all sorts of app issues; white screens, crash back to home screen etc. I didn't panic though and knew that you have to let this sort of update "settle". Once I'd left it for a few hours, it was fine (so far anyway).

    Regards

    James
Yes. Likewise. Haven't yet seen any white screens crashes etc. Will check in again if I do.

I was sceptical when I saw others mention this, but this update has certainly improved my battery life with my Classic and it already was pretty decent. Nice bonus.

I think I'm the only one with battery usage issue. Battery is worse than with the downgraded ART.

So if this fix is coming via BBW but doesn't show up as an app update, how is BlackBerry getting the word out to customers, many of which may not read blogs?

Many of which that do not read blogs most likely do not install android apps on their devices either. They stick with whatever is available in BB World.

I had this too after the update. I had to reboot, then the battery usage normalized a lot.

The instructions state that the phone must be rebooted after installing the update. If you didn't then that might be why battery life is worse.

You won't find it because it is baked into the OS and opening in BBW will not doing anything other than give you a blank screen. just download an android app and you will see it work

Well technical info for you the runtime is based on android 4.3 (Jellybean) and does not allow all of the android APIs. So some apps will work and some won't, so really it is basically trial and error on which ones you can use.

You are aware of Cobalt's threads and the ability to patch Android apps so that most Android apps will work.

Could someone, please, point me to the files that make ART, so I could extract them from autoloader using Sachesi, or give me the links to bar files?
My ART is not working, can't install apk files and android ports from bbw install but crash on opening.
I reloaded sys.android but no avail, still same situation but as I recall there where two files for ART and I only find that one when I extract IFS with Sachesi.
    Thank you kindly!
