I might be missing something but don't understand what you are talking about!

OTA updates seem to cause issues for some but updating the autoloader way seems to be more problem free, if that is what you meant?

Many of the experienced on the board have suggested to use the autoloaders instead of attempting OTA update. If you search CB, you will see explanations by Conite and Thurask.

I installed the latest update OTA a few weeks ago on my Z30 STA100-5 and have only had one issue. I can no longer connect to my VM-605 Bluetooth device. The only change that I've noticed is that some of my favourite mobile sites seem to load better. (I should say that I have never loaded any Android apps).

the OTA issue will not get fixed. my opinion is that BB likes it that way. it kills off bb10 users who are not technical enough to use an autoloader (it's dead simple, but you'd first have to come to crackberry to learn about it, obtain one, etc). hopefully this drives users away from BB permanently, as that is what they deserve...but I digress. use an autoloader, as per 1000 other posts about this subject. or dont update. it doesnt really offer anything.

Your theory requires that BlackBerry actually thought this through.

Have you tried deleting the bt device list on BOTH the VM and your Z30? Turn off BT discovery on both devices, reboot then turn on discovery. You need to make sure that there are NO bluetooth devices in the list on both devices before you re-pair.

Thanks brookie 229. Good suggestion. I gave it a shot. Still no luck. "Pairing was unsuccessful. The device didn't accept the pairing request or pairing isn't allowed." Oh well, I'm sure this issue will be addressed in 10.4

Sorry to hear that--oh well couldn't hurt to try. Sounds like you have tried everything. I don't know anything about the VM-605 other than it is an ancient device (sorry), so that probably has something to do with it. Can you (or have you) paired it with other devices recently?

p.s sorry to hijack this thread--just interested in this problem!

Yaaay! I got it! Turns out it wasn't a 10.3.3 thing after all. Your suggestion prompted me to check if VM-605 would still connect to Storm2. When it did not, I realised I had to solve a problem with the Bluetooth device. Turns out it was in FM mode and needed to be switched to pairing mode. Good stuff! The VM-605 lives on.

Excellent - glad it worked out. Lots of people have had problems with bluetooth but I think most cases have been solved with some patience and thinking. What is important in a lot of cases is the resetting of the device you want to pair to.
