I just hooked up my Passport to Link to perform a back up and it told me there was an update to take me from 10.3.1.1581 to, guess what!, 10.3.1.1581. Being a tad suspicious of update releases recently, especially those that don't appear to be an actual update I thought I'd check OTA. Lo and behold there was the same update but the file was only 2MB. Took a chance and downloaded it and there appears to be no change at all, not even in the release and OS version numbers. Anyone have any idea what this is all about?

While I (hopefully) have your attention I ran the early AT&T version of 10.3.1 and it was better in virtually everyway when compared to the latest release. My battery in particular lasted significantly longer than it does now and the device as a whole felt smoother and faster. Would anyone recommend going back to this version? I can't remember the OS version off the top of my head but it was OS .19XX

    Cheers

the 2MB update was more than likely a carrier addition to the OS. There is a newer one available for the PP on the forums here somewhere .2xxx something.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'll check out the one on the forums but I really loved that AT&T version (10.3.1.1372/10.3.1.1955), it was everything I was hoping 10.3.1 to be.

    Thanks for your help

Seems that this update has solved my battery issues but hasn't fixed Maps which pretty much hasn't worked at all since the official 10.3.1 update. I think I'll live with this one for a while and see how it settles down before doing anything.

Interesting. I purchased my AT&T Passport on Saturday. I connected it to Link today to do a backup, and Link wanted to update my Passport from 10.3.1.1372 to 10.3.1.1372. It was a pretty quick update.
