I've got the update notification too on my Z10 but, after reading all the posts in the other threads relating to this update, I am terrified to click the go button!

What does everyone else out there think? Go or no go?

Was in the same boat... got the update but was hesitant. I did it anyway. No regrets. Had no text messages to worry about. Had to reconfigure 2 of my contacts. Some info went missing. But that's it.

I downloaded the update and love the improvements and my battery is through the roof right now. Hate the intermittent text issues so I'd likely wait till another release if you're a text fiend. Or backup. Either way, good luck.

I'm with Rogers in Canada. But I downloaded it in USA as I am on vacation with unlocked Z10 on T-MOBILE.
Backing up probably a good idea. Although I didn't.

I'm torn as well.. I really love the black theme and don't want to lose it! I wish they would give the option of keeping the black theme.

Battery is absolutely amazing after this update. I don't even know how.

I'm on t-mobile USA, and love the update! The battery life is phenomenal, and I've had nothing but positives. I also got the wifi calling app as part of the update. It didn't think I was on a network at first, but a restart fixed that permanently. I'd highly recommend updating.

Aaargh! Help! I downloaded the new os but its taking forever to reboot! Its been 2 hours! The screen is the bb menu icon. Nothing is moving. If I touch the icon it says 100%. Is it frozen? I really hope I don't lose aanything. I forgot to back up! Stupid me.

Well, I updated to 4181:
Lost all text messages, okay so far. Nothing important.

Much more hassle since then is that IMAP E-Mail is not synchronizing properly any more:
1 - Mails deleted/moved on server side are still kept in BB
2 - Mails already read on server with e.g. Outlook on PC remain unread in BB
etc etc.

Deleted the mail account on BB and reconfigured with "advanced", but no progress.

Any idea?

I was expecting seamless upgrade....now I am experiencing many issues: cannot send new emails or open existing ones, share on twitter, make new phone calls, etc.

After I updated my os to the latest 10.1.0.4181, I can't seem to make phone calls at all! This is really frustrating...

India! Crashed my z10 phone!!! Can't make or recieved calls!! Pls help guys!! What to do? And after updating still getting updates!! First was 126 mb den 93mb den 73 mb twice and now again 118mb!!

Same issue! It gets stuck on the blackberry icon at 100% - I restarted twice and then it said "software update failed"
now I can't make calls or receive calls! text messages wiped! something has to be done soon because calls are SUPER important.

1) no battery pulls.

2) it took my phone 2 hours to update.
So if you wanna try again, plug it to link and restore.

Try again but this time, leave the phone alone for at least 4 hours. Checking in it periodically to see if it's updating and reloading.

it worked like a charm. i did a backup, but didnt need it because everything worked - even my text messages were there. i'm in South Africa, and the only issue i had, was with getting special characters to work again. i did it by following another crackberry post from edu3110
(Try this... Setting>Language and Input>Input Language>Select the language (English for example or whatever you have). Under layout change qwerty to azerty. save it. That should do it...)

Let me know if it worked.

Upgraded and having problems with service provider connection. The device is not able to connect to EDGE or HSDPA. Requires constant reboot just to get connected.
Service Provider in Malaysia, Celcom.
