What are they and what do they do? Is this something that can help you sideload Android apps and run them properly? Anybody could help me find information and/or leaks? I am no expert but still managed to install the 10.2.0.1443 leak and sideload a few Android apps.

They both serve the same purpose the unlocked runtime is so that you don't need a debug token. They allow the apps to run native android code.

I have both, URT and debug installed. Some apps still don't work but if we can get devs to write more native apps, we all win.

So if I install the latest leak, do I need to get the unlocked runtime? Does it make a difference? I have some side loaded apps on my 10.1 version and they work fine. Wouldn't it be the same if I installed the leak and used the same side loaded apps? Sorry for the basic questions but I'm just trying to get some info before I full commit and do the leak.

Fortunately I do know what you mean by URT...Unlocked Run Time...right...please correct me if I'm wrong.

But in the true nature of creating an acronym...wouldn't Unlocked Runtime be UR?

As they prove to do nothing more than confuse and mislead the reader.
(the same user here even uses a different partial acronym in their signature) See what I mean by confusion?
"Rockin' a Black STL100-4...Z10 10.2.0.1443... UL Runtime+Debug Token... on Verizon.<----part of signature.
I absolutely abhor them unless a legend showing the Acronym (or abbreviation) is included.

It may not be my place to request this but PLEASE if your going to make up acronyms ( Which I think it's the lazy person's way), Include what it means at the beginning of your post.

The full meaning and intent of the word, therefore acronym, will understood by all...not just by the lazy creator and a few others.

Not pickin on you gearheaddaddy...but just pointing out to ALL those who prefer to use acronyms.

Sorry to all mods if I stepped on anyone's toes.

You don't "need" the unlocked runtime or debug token. The reason to get one or the other is to be able to have the best compatibility with Android apps that have been converted from '.apk' to '.bar'.

If your current method works for you, don't bother. However if you side load an Android app and it doesn't seem to run, it's worth a shot installing the unlocked runtime. The debug method is more involved, so that's why it is recommended to use/install the unlocked runtime.

No matter what method you use, no leak, just a leak, a leak with Jellybean (Android 4.2), a the newest leak with the unlocked runtime, or even the newest leak with able bug token, you will not get 100% Android App compatibility or even 100% App functionality. However, you will get a much higher rate of success with the latest leak and the unlocked runtime.

Good point. Sorry if I confused some noobs. Yes URT is Unlocked Runtime ( Yes I got lazy and copied it from another poster)

ok. it took me a while to get this unlocked runtime thing as somehow i missed the instructions that said you have to sideload this and i was expecting it to run as a program like the leak installers do.

anywho what i wanted to know is:

i have installed a 10.2 leake and i have the unlocked runtime sideloaded. im going to do a factory reset of the z10 to try and resolve some issues im having. do i have to re sideload this unlocked runtime?

Google Chrome is fine. It would only make a difference on apps that require native code to run. Ie candy crash, ig
