    Hi All,
This is my first unlocked Blackberry, couldn't wait for AT&T to sell it and I wanted the Red PassPort.
Anyways will I still receive OS updates on the AT&T network even thou my phone is unlock and a different model than the one AT&T sells?

We've all searched for stuff and not fount exactly what we're looking for. That said, while I understand your frustration, there are more polite ways to direct other users to the search function...

Jesus... hold on, let me rephrase: "yes, you will kind sir. For the next time would you kindly please search the forum if it's not a nuisance for good sir, because as you may appreciate the fact that we all like to keep this forum clean, the answer is usually (and for sure this time) provided to this question for your reading pleasure. I apologise for writing this, so if you don't want to do the kind search, then I will bow my head and never again bother your beautiful human being's head". Better?

Updates are pushed by the carrier, thus you will receive the update from whatever carrier sim you have installed

But, in the case of AT&T and using a factory unlocked phone, the OP will eventually get the latest official BlackBerry release, and not be reliant on whatever version AT&T decides to allow - and probably not actually release for another 4 to 6 months from now. He may not see it immediately, usually the worldwide roll-out happens first, then the unlocked phones on AT&T's network gets them regardless of the SIM installed. At least, that's how it's worked up to now.

To be clear, this is only for factory unlocked phones on the AT&T network. This does not work for phones that were AT&T sold/branded, but unlocked later. Those will still be tied to the SIM. But, being unlocked, another SIM could be installed and any newer OS on that SIM's carrier would be pushed.

There's actually some debate about this now.. ShopBlackBerry purchased devices potentially could get updates direct from BlackBerry according to Micheal Clewley. However, after asking him directly, he's double-checking.

Tried here on my unlocked Passport running on AT&T but no dice.

Maybe need to try rebooting without the Sim card (so much effort though).

I am hoping Shop BlackBerry purchased devices get the update directly. (irrespective of carrier) That is one reason I purchased our Z30's and now Passport direct. No longer wanted AT&T bloat ware and want updates direct.

Right, if it was accurate it wouldn't be that much effort, I think anyway. On the brighter side, it does seem as though it's something they can enable if they wish to do so, so there's that. Even if it's not enabled right now.

I tried with and without the SIM installed. No dice, either. I bought mine unlocked from Amazon. Hmm.

Did you hear back from M.C.? Are they working on enabling it? That would be great. I'm running a leaked 10.3.1 on a z30 on AT&T, would love to get the update OTA because I can be fairly lazy.
