Anyone else having this problem?

It's the same on my Q10 and Z30 running 10.3.0.1154

On 10.2 it was super quick to search for names for example.

Seeing that 10.3.0.1154 is the OS at launch for khan and passport I'm not sure if this will be badly received.

Passport is also twice as fast if not more. So it will have no issue since it's not optimized for our devices.

10.3 isn't meant for Q10.

But it's pretty slow on Q10SQN100-5/10.2.1.3247 so that doesn't bode too well.

Then it's fast again.

Good idea on turning the assist off, much qucker - thanks

In 10.2 if I wanted the calculator say, I would start typing the word and the universal search would instantly find it,,,,, On my Q10 on the latest 10.3 it doesn't recognize it even I complete the word and the same goes for other apps. I used to find this very useful.

Has anyone else found this or is it just me?

Then it's fast again.

Well 10.3.0.1154 is the launch OS for the new porsche design phone is 100 the same as Q10 internal hardware wise, so is its slow here, it'll be slow there.

I think the delay is accounting for in case you want to use voice.. turning it off just has the basics in search

The new porsche has the same hardware as the Q10, which makes it hard to believe that this is the level it's expected to perform.

No it isn't! The new P'9983 has 64gig of internal storage! Totally NOT 100% the same. Maybe that's why it will run smoothly on a P'9983 but not on the Q10.

The internal storage does not have much impact on the the app running smoothly. Key factors impacting that performance would be processor power, ram, OS optimization and the actual app itself..... all of which are the same with the Q10 vs P'9983.

Now I'm guessing you were being sarcastic by pointing out the only hardware difference (excluding aesthetics), but not everyone would pick up on that hence my response.

As a poster above have helpfully said, turning off "full assistant" has sped up the universal search quite a bit.

10.3.0.1154 is official for new porsche phone which also means it's optimised for the hardware which is the same as Q10.

So 10.3.0.1154, at least for the Q10 is pretty much official.

Thanks. By keeping Blackberry Assistance, search has made really very quick similar to 10.2.1. It suffices my need since most of time, I search for something available in the device.

by disabling full assistance a lot of commands like 'sms/msg' doesnt work... so its definitely not a solution

I keep my assistant turned on but uncheck the search items I don't need. This way I still have the instant actions like typing "sms +contact name " but it's faster than if it was bogged down searching through everything

Before I could type "text" and the name of a contact and it would go to compose. It doesn't do that anymore.
Is there a way to change this? I don't want voice assistant. I just want to press the search icon and begin typing. This 10.3 search is too many steps.

Go to the settings for the personal assistant and make sure full assistance is turned on. Then go to device search and only check the items you want the personal assistant to search for. The fewer items checked the faster it will be. You need the assistant turned on to be able to use some of the instant actions. Hope this helps
