I just exchanged my Z10 for a Q10 and after upgrading the OS to the latest offical update i tried to restore the Data of from the Z10 backup.

I was asked to upgrade the OS as I had done the Backup on 10.1.0.4543. I went ahead and installed the same on Q10 but BB link keeps giving me an error " There could have been a problem with the device or connection during the restore. verify that the device is turned on and connected"

sometimes the device restarts after getting the error. I even tried to restore on another Z10 running the same version but to no avail. even partial restore isnt working for me as i just want my setting and app data.

right now i am running 10.1.0.4561 on my SQN-3 which is higher than the backup OS of 10.1.04543

kindly let me know if there is a work around or a solution to thisUnable to Restore Z10 Data on Q10-problem.jpg

Try restoring selectively. Don't restore settings.

I am having the same issue, I have a LE Red Z10 which i want to restore my data from my black z10, but it keep saying " There could have been a problem with the device or connection during the restore. verify that the device is turned on and connected". have reset my LE to factory settings and try from scratch still the same, have even use two USB to perform a device switch but the same error happens. this is getting very frustrating. Anyone can provide a solution? can blackberry reply on this as i saw quite a number of people having this issue.

Mike, do you have a dev edition? I think you may have to do some software tricks to get it to work. Ask Kris.

I had the same issue when i switched from Z10 to Q10 but i was unable to restore. I gave up hope after my 1000th try an went ahead with the fresh OS but today when i tried to update to 10.1.0.4657 the same thing happened again. so after being hopeless for a few hours i downgraded to 10.1.0.4651 the same OS leak that i had made the backup on and individually restored each of the three sections starting with Media then Apps then settings and it worked!
