    If it's true that BB will release the update directly, then you will be simply notified that the OS update is available.
    If this time won't differ much from the previous updates, then you will have to wait until your operator releases new OS for your phone.
    I believe that Medion is an virtual operator, and should there be no update, then you can get any prepaid SIM card of any German operator, who would make the update available for your phone. The SIM doesn't even have to be activated, you would be able to get the update over WiFi.

    Another option would be the update through the blackberry link software.

    But again: let's just wait and see how the updated OS will be made available.

    As someone said somewhere before.. bbry tend to push an update to couple users before official rollout to test bits and bobs of servers, connections, etc...
