I find it usefull. Still happens that I go out of an application to go to settings, but then remember that the two finger swipe is available.

I'm not sure if I'm getting this? People are finding it hard to swipe down from the top to get to their settings app? I just use my thumb as I hold phone in same hand, presto! its there! I don't see the problem?
EXACTLY!! EXACTLY!!

Uuh were do you use 2 fingers swipe?
Posted with my awesome ? Z10 :)
Agree with the OP as I am pretty much a one handed user all of the time. For those who use two hands of course it works fine, but as others have said, options would be nice.

Some people have fingers that can bend. I find it exceedingly easy to place my fingertips side by side on a flat surface by letting one, or sometimes both fingers, bend a little. Pulling down then performs a flawless two finger swipe.
Not to brag, but I can do it with three fingers as well... probably all my finger painting experience as a tot. ;-)

It's swipe, not drag, so you have to do it fast!
If you do it real slow it may not work, you may display the app settings as with one finger from top slow.
One finger from top slow.
Two fingers from top fast.
One finger over keyboard to select numbers or symbols aslo needs done fast!

It's easy. One handed too.

It's not useless. I use it all the time.
As far as I'm concerned, the pkb is to be used with both hands, right? When i'm typing, both index fingers can do the work. When I'm browsing, one hand to hold the phone and the other to do the job, just like a normal touch phone :-? What's the problem?

I don't have the OS version that will let me do the two-finger swipe-down (from Top), but I'm very much looking forward to using that feature when the I get the update. However, I've used the two-finger swipe-up (from bottom) to bring up the keyboard, or swipe down on keyboard to hid it. That particular two-finger-swipe works fine for me every time, regardless of which fingers I use.
That gesture is spoken for, do it 5x to restart the Hub. IMO, the hub restart should be a on-screen selection buried in the setting menu.
I fully agree!!
you gotta get used to the spacing. I had problems with it too at first.
Thank you to those who have read my first post about the complaint.
I'm using a z30, so the two finger swipe is definitely impossible with one hand, and I have huge hands so I can't imagine how it is for smaller people.
The two finger swipe IS DIFFICULT, is what I meant. It's not easy like almost every other gesture. It requires two hands or weird hand gymnastics to get it right.
Every other gesture is done intuitively and the OS understands it.
Few good suggestions in the thread. I doubt BlackBerry will change the gesture but I'd like to see the OS recognize it more easily than it does now. As some have pointed, you need to be particularly accurate in hand placement and all, which is why it's "useless"

I used to find it awkward because I literally took it as the "2-FINGER Swipe" - but then I started using 2 thumbs and it's really smooth and easy now lol.
Admittedly though, most of the time I just use one hand and swipe up, then swipe down.

I use it all the time. Useless? Maybe for you...
I use it all the time with no issues.
BlackBerry hates America!
Disagreed with OP -- extremely useful and easy to do.
Yes, the two-finger swipe down feature isn't good for single-handed use, which is important for many users. We know this because many people have already mentioned using two single-finger swipes to access the settings menu (up to exit program, then down to access settings) rather than one two-finger downward swipe.
While I like the suggestions in this thread, I think that the best solution would be to have programmable gestures. For instance, the mirror image of the hub shortcut (swipe up and then left) could be user-assigned to a given function like (1) show settings menu or (2) close current app or (3) go to lock screen or (4) whatever you want.
That wouldn't be hard to program at all into the OS and would be true to the BlackBerry Flow idea.

I hardly use it but if it was more intuitive, like a swipe from the corner like the pb or a double swipe down, i would certainly use it more often. I find it easier to swipe up to home and then swipe down. Easier but more time consuming

Yep, that's the right way to go...I have always wondered since day one why this is not available and have always thought that it will come on some future update.....over 1.5 years now so I'm a little less confident that it will happen, but I think that BB10 will be around for quite awhile, so there is still hope left.
This is really not any different than the picture password.

Excellent opinion, I'm glad some of you are still reading my original post and responding to that.
Though it seems adding "options " to BlackBerry 10 is more complicated than we imagine, it must be more difficult to code for the OS than I imagine.
I still believe that using two fingers to do anything that requires reaching the top of the screen (already difficult on a z30) should not exist for anything.
Q users, I understand you guys don't care because your thumbs can reach the top of the screen, but no man below 6'7" could do such a thing without some finger gymnastics

Oh please... aren't you getting a little melodramatic now. Let me guess, 2 swipes is a problem, but wiping your device 5 times before installing an OS isn't? Whatever...

I use it all the time! Mostly to adjust the brightness or make sure wifi is on while in an app.
