I'm trying to reload 10.2.1 on my Q10 now that it's officially released.

The method I'm using is, connect my Q10 to my PC, load Blackberry Link, Preferences, Reload Device Software, Reload.

Link then starts downloading the software, I assume from Blackberry, and gets to 98% and complains it can't finish the download because the internet connection is out. I've tested and my internet is working fine. Hitting retry does nothing.

    Any ideas?

I'm having a problem where Link tells me via the reload that only 10.1.0.4633 is available. Even though 10.2.1 is already available on my network as well as through Link earlier today.

I was planning to wipe my Z10 clean and load 10.2.1 to start all fresh as soon as my carrier would release 10.2.1 officially. Now they have I tried to reload it using link but got stuck on 98% just like you guys did. I am currently wiping it through the device itself. It hasn't finished yet so I don't know it this method will work but you could give it a try

Settings > Security and Privacy > Security Wipe

This method works but its the longest process. After wipe, you can update the phone OTA unless if you updated before wipe then I don't know if blackberry retains the latest OS after wipe when resets to factory settings.

The wipe still ain't completed. How long is this supposed to take? I thought I'd be installing apps again within the hour.

I think I found the problem.

You can download the 10.2.1 BAR directly from here: http://cdn.fs.sl.blackberry.com/fs/q...-v7+signed.bar

I found Blackberry Link saves it's OS download into your Temporary Internet Files (C:\Users\<YOU>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Te mporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\AV6ZPR0G) in my case. I confirmed this by deleting the .bar file from temporary internet files, clicking 'retry' in Link and having it download a fresh copy.

I did a MD5/SHA1 of the file Blackberry Link downloaded and the file I manually downloaded from above and they are identical.

This leads me to believe Blackberry has screwed up the checksums on the OS download some how and we're stuck until they fix it on their end.

Chances are we'll need to clear our Internet Explorer cache to before being able to download what ever fixed BAR they release.

I think you are right. I cleared my temp folder and browser files and was able to start a fresh download but got stuck on 98% just like on the first try. Still wiping using the device itself..

Everything is working fine again. After the reboot I was on the latest OS but had a small update of 14MB. I have restored a backup of all my settings and had to re-enter the passwords. All seems fine so far. Continuing installing apps now.

But you didn't try reloading the OS from BB Link?

I tried twice using BB link but I got stuck on 98% both times before I wiped my Z10 using the security wipe.

Yeah I was hoping to find out if the problem went away after your security wipe. It's probably a Link issue completely but since you were in process of security wiping I figured I'd save myself the trouble of doing it

Tried again today. Same problem. I'm going to post this on the Blackberry Beta Zone and try to dig up a support contact e-mail address at Blackberry.

If you've got access here is my post on the Beta Zone: https://beta.webapps.blackberry.com/...w/20116#103407

    and the Link forums: http://supportforums.blackberry.com/...h/td-p/2756753

    Hopefully someone will see it

Looks like BB is at least aware of the issue - check the following knowledge base article...
