For Yahoo, you have to allow less secure apps to have access (in Account settings on the Yahoo site) and you also need to create an App specific password for each device now. You will end up with a 16 digit password which is only to used for logging on on your Blackberry.

For Gmail, I can't help to much. Whenever I add my work account it adds fine. I will add that you do need to change the CardDAV server address for your contacts to https://www.googleapis.com/.well-known/carddav

What specific errors are you getting godsman?

I can only say, that I have just reinstalled my GMail account about 10 days ago (due to me resetting my phone to remove BBID).

No. Sorry I may have been unclear. I brought it up to say that setup was no trouble 10 days ago and it works great since.
