As I am typing this thread, my passport has rebooted for the 4th time in day. Its older brethren, Q10 took cue and also rebooted;once while I attempted a call.
Certainly isn't impressed with the OS, especially when this phone (Passport) is ~4 months old. The reboots were from viewing PDF attachments, then viewing Docs to Go, from lift waking my phone and placing back down?! Oh ya, also from typing in this forum. I reckon the phone's trying to erase evidence of its faultiness.
Both phones are on stock OS with some apps from Amazon.
But still, in 10.3 with this kind of.. *sigh*
    End of complaint.

All in one go ey. Can be annoying especially when I needed to use the phone. :Can't watch: how they supposedly used in medical settings when the OS can be so flaky.

What they use in medical devices has nothing to do with BB10 other than its based on the same kernel,.. which is not what is crashing in your BB10 devices (in fact, it probably detects the fault and triggers the restart).

I haven't had any reboots since the early days of the Z10. Do you use cases with your device? Could be that the lock or volume buttons are slightly jammed, or perhaps have collapsed and so they trigger the hard reset when slightly bumped.

I had a period of lots of reboots on my passport, seemed very random. I thought about it and associated the reboots to the fact that I had switched over to picture password vs typing in my password. I disabled picture password and my phone has not rebooted itself in over a month now. I'm not sure if you are using picture password or not, but if you are try disabling it and see if that helps.

My Z10 sometimes reboots and I don't know why. But only sometimes. The last reboot was 3 or 4 months ago, so nothing to complain for me.
I suppose a bad / strange signal could cause reboots since I only have them when the phone is in my pocket and I cross areas with bad coverage. But it's just a thought and feeling.

Never had reboots for years with z30, passport. I had it once in a while with q10 and a bit more frequently with the z10 because of their loose removable batteries.

Since I've been using BlackBerry 10 devices from the z10 to the z30 and now the Passport. Never ever ever had any of them randomly reboot on me. Even my old bbos devices never rebooted on me ever.

No reboots of their own on two Z10s, a Q10 and a Z30. Ever. Stock OS or leak.

When it rebooted, sometimes I have my Amzer case on and sometimes off. Yeah I did thought maybe the case was impeding the buttons, but no coz the last 2 reboots was when it's naked.
Password wise, no I didn't set any, except for SIM card, since I always keep my phone close to me.
Android apps- yes from amazon store, Tunein radio, office suit and some games. But hey, if it pleases you to point the blame on android apps not suited to run on OS10 and I shouldn't have downloaded it if I wasn't willing to accept the (possible) associated problems, go ahead.

Now ,I still am sticking with this phone. In hopes that in the near future, the OS will be much stable for me to not lose a half written document shall it decide to reboot or when I'm viewing a radiograph.

I've experienced maybe 2 reboots a year (and I'm not sure if they weren't caused by keeping my BB in my pocket and mistakenly pressing the power button a long time).
Can it be that it's an app leading to your problems, since they're happening on both Passport and Q10?

I always reboot after adding accounts and apps (after successful reload). That's my habit since legacy OS days.

Z10 for me doesn't random reboot. Pocket, buttons getting pushed. Rarely, if I place it down on something a little hard it will reset. Now I have dropped it before and it hasn't reset so its a bit odd when it does.

Run the BBVE and see if you have any issues.

If the Passport had a removable battery, I'd offer that maybe the contacts were a tiny bit loose. But obviously, that isn't the case.

When I first got my Z10 shortly after launch, it went through a period of very frequent reboots. I posted here about it, as did quite a few other people. Eventually it just seemed to stop...and was solid ever since. That is, until I got the battery/charger combo pack and put that battery in, and saw a few reboots. Figured one battery fit a little bit "looser" than the other.

I hear you OP, when they come for me, they come all at once also. Had a four reboot day recently as well. No case so not the issue. I get them a couple times a month, three or four a day for a day or two, then nothing until next time. Happened with Q10, and probably worse with Passport.
