I've been an active BlackBerry user for a few years now. Dating back to the BlackBerry Tour 9630, I've since then had the Bold 9650, BlackBerry 9930, and currently use the Z(zed) 10. Although I want to see BlackBerry survive, more or less get out of the slump they're in; it's going to be a few years, IMO, that we will see a solid turn around.

My contract is up soon, and the devices BlackBerry launched (Passport and Classic) are no where close to its competitors, when it comes to performance, speed, and fluidity. I do believe BlackBerry 10 os performs very well; very intuitive, but lag is a major problem. Load times are a problem.

In the future, I hope BlackBerry will surprise everyone with a new device that is an overall workhorse, in all categories. Until then, I'm going to experiment with the upcoming S6.

    Godspeed.

Good luck with the other device. I'm vise versa with your situation. I came from hardcore android / flash rom user / never will look back when I got my Z30.

Love how people talk crap about the passport when they haven't even used it. Good riddance! And I don't usually spout off like this, but these threads make me sick.

I agree. Passport spec is superb and on par with high end competitors. I haven't experienced any lag. I hope OP enjoy his new device and come back to BlackBerry in the future.

When it comes to performance, speed, and fluidity BlackBerry Passport does compete well with what the current market!

What BlackBerry lacks is APPS that all, even the camera is up to standards unless people need a DSLR :P

There are many reviews and comparison which will prove it to you.

Hope you find happiness and satisfaction in your next device.

I find this to be mostly perception. I only speak up when necessary. I have a Z30, a little more than a year old, running leak .2267, with a mix of andriod apps from Amazon and 1 Mobile Market. I have a company issued Iphone 5s, i own a Ipod Touch 64g, and there is a Ipad2 in the house(wife's ), besides other laptops and desktops. The Iphone 5s is 5 months old and with ios8xx it is the most en-efficent device i have, especially with ios8, which cause my Ipod Touch to lag and chunk along, subscequent update have made it run smother. The Ipad2 had the same issues. My Z30 with bluetooth on all day and primary phone with rental car out lasted 5s used moderately for business call, nothing else. Before replying as I am apt to do, I tested it for loading some videos from the web, i have several wireless cable routers to choose from, and it is the slowest , Z30 first, Ipod, then 5s. Lag could be in your perception or future depending on what you buy. Grass is not always greener, bye.

As always, judging a 2-year-old device against a brand new release is hardly the best measurement. Z30 and Passport both have faster processors than Z10; Passport quite a bit so.

    Regardless:
