I usually pay at Tims using my Tim's ap via NFC but the wifi hot spot never saves automatically and I always have to log onto wifi manually. Shouldn't this connect automatically as soon as I walk in?

I don't have the answer, but it could possibly be that the phone won't log into a non secure network without you specifically instructing it to do so. Just a thought but it does kinda make sense.

I think it's because to log in to say Tim's or McDonald's hot spot you have to click "yes" to agree to their terms.
So it won't connect until you actually do that

Yes it is a security feature of BB10. However if you register with Tim Hortons for their premium wi-fi (free) it no longer looks like an open hotspot and your BlackBerry will usually connect automatically.

It's a setting that TH has. You have to agree to their terms of service before they will let you connect. I've had the same issue on Z30 and galaxy.

Last week I had same issue but attempting to login to accept terms of service agreement was a no go. Wifi connected but no login page would come up. Reboot, delete Wifi profile, nothing worked.

It depends on the Tim's for mine.. there are some locations that it connects right away and doesn't at other locations?
