I don't think this issue has been discussed yet, which is quite a surprise for me. The Calculator app is a fine app, however, the lack of thousands separator is a big drawback. Is it just me, or do most people actually need thousands separator in the Calculator app?

Please leave your comments below, hopefully the moderator will take notice and forward this feature request to Blackberry.

I've never used it and don't see the need for it. 10000 is obviously ten thousand.

It bothers me sometimes as I crunch a lot of big numbers on the fly and sometimes I only have my phone. I find myself having to count the digits to figure out what the number is sometimes, which doesn't take long but still takes up time.

It certainly wouldn't hurt to have it. Makes reading larger numbers that much easier. Even just having the option would be nice.

1 for me I consider this feature as very important, especially when figures come in millions I wish it could be there.
2 I'm not sure whether it is a basic requirement to use BB, which is you can identify a seven or eight digit or even longer figure at your first sight. so please tell me 51324641 is how much in ONE second? sorry I can't do that, so maybe I'm not qualified to use BB.
3 I guess it was removed due to some security reasons or it might affect the experience of using the keyboard anything else?
4 good thing is that your phone is smart, you can use alternatives, there are plenty free apps in the store, try one. Or, since your brain is also smart, there are a lot of alternatives over this device in the market. The market share is 0.4% in the Q4 2014. people votes always
SORRY about the complain, but I really wish BB could understand that you have to work hard for excellency to earn market share, not just a few selling points, in other words improve user efficiency and experience, not making confusions.
SORRY you will never see it, I guess BB will say so

You'll be crying when 10000000000 it's not obviously ten billion.

    Awesome post...especially point number 2.
Who makes a calculator app with no 1000s separator?! Shall we also have no periods and just write run on sentences and leave it to our audience to decipher too?

This is my only major complaint with the built-in Calculator.

I've gotten into the habit of dividing everything by 100 to kind of help mitigate this issue. At least there anrent as many zeros that way.

Been wondering why they didn't include this. Separators exist on actual business calculators, there's a reason why we use calculators and not our own head to calculate numbers: to make it easier, not having a thousand separator is just making it hard.

I have pointed out the same flaw a long time ago.

The other day I used a prepaid nokia with window OS. The calculator did have the thousands separator. A must for a business type phone.

It is quite embarrassing that OS10 doesn't still have it.

And they don't have to update the entire OS to fix it. The calculator is a separate app than can be upgraded a stand alone.

Talking to developers they say that it is a quite simple fix for the app.
