I'd like to know this too! If I have to start again, I'm out of there.

Yes my clash wont start and sideloading it again does nothing, app still won't boot. I'm going to try and figure this out, must be a way to get it working. Keep older backups of your phone and hopefully we can figure out a way to get it working.

I'd also recommend a backup before you delete clash on the new OS. Probably a way to fandangle it back into working just need to figure it out.

Does doing a typical phone backup, using Link, backup the Android data?

It seems that those who have CoC originally sideloaded are the ones having issues. How about those that had the game installed directly to their phones (via 10.2.1 leaked os), are you able to retrieve your game progress after the update?

It does, but to have it work properly when you restore the backup you need to have the app installed first. I've survived of updates and coc updates several times now and only lost my progress once early on due to my impatience

Ok guys, got it worked out on my phone.

    This thread post #39

Download the two files. Open up sachesi and delete the two old android bars, android.sys and androidshell.sys

Select the two new android bars and install them through sachesi. reboot and open one of your android apps. It may take one or two tries to get the runtime initialized but I am back up and running with CoC and all the data.

I really wish someone would develop an app to backup and selective restore of android app data.

    Our problem would be solved.

That would be an app I'd be willing to cough up some money for.

    Guys,

I've updated to the official 10.2.1 OTA. Did not back up or anything. Just tapped on update.

My CoC progress is still there. I didn't lose my account.

I didn't have to sideload anything to get it to work - lucky me i guess.

    Hi guys

I updated to official 10.2.1.1925 without even backing anything up. My Clash of clans game progress has been saved. Nothing lost.

I was on a version loaded from Snap.
