Is there a version of BB10 (the Chromium OS equivalent) that can run on my laptop?
After years of struggles with Windows never running as it should I give up... Windows 7 Perpetual and never solved issues with "unable to install update...reverting changes..." windows 8 and 8.1

    Continued...

... almost drove me insane. Windows 8 and 8.1 did not restore my faith in Windows but brought on new absurdities: windows apps just won't open...
I was considering using Chromium OS bypassing Windows but hoped a similar BB10 OS was available..
it am baffled by Microsoft' failures particular in contrast to BlackBerry's flawless introduction of a new OS..

You might want to try Ubuntu.
It is a complete OS. Will not give you hard time.

    Part 3...

BlackBerry 10 fulfills nearly all my computing needs leaving my laptop to collect dust except to run BlackBerry Link and recently sideload Snap or OS leaks....
I would be happy never using Windows again and would appreciate your input, suggestions, feedback...
    Thank you.

You can buy a Z10 or Z30 a dock, HDMI cable and bluetooth keyboard and mouse and a monitor that way you can use your phone as a pc on a big screen.

I am not sure if BlackBerry has released a version of the BlackBerry Link for Ubuntu, but I think it would be better to check on Black berry's website.

No, not even close. You would need to install wine and then it will still be hit and miss cause you will still need to install Windows in a VM on your nix box.

    Stay with windows.

If windows 8 is really bothering you, just go to windows 7 (do a fresh install and get your correct drivers). Your issues seen to be involving some sort of driver issue or just a bad install overall. BlackBerry Link will only work for Mac OSX and Windows. No other, unfortunately.
