I have noticed that there is no longer a countdown when writing a text, showing how many characters you have left to type.

I used to abide by that countdown and then send it and start another text to continue talking. I'm assuming now it will just automatically split up the text accordingly.

It always has... with or without the count down.

Well ok, I guess I sort of mostly knew that . . . .

I'm sort of surprised to see the counter-down all gone though. All good. Just wondered why it was there in the first place if it was stripped away for the new OS.

I shall write my texts as essays from now on

Actually, the word countdown does show when you get close to overflowing into a new message. It will show under the emoticon.
