To any and all T-Mobile US customers running a leaked 10.1.0.4xxx (or higher) OS and having trouble getting the wifi calling feature to work: I found out that there has to be a "feature" on your line for the permission for your phone to connect to the IMS service. It is a free feature. I would recommend going to your nearest store and having a rep add it. (if you call the customer care number, they'll likely not add it for you, as the OS you're using is not approved on their system. Whereas the sales reps, will probably have less questions and won't even know that your phone "isn't supposed" to do it.)

I can't guarantee it will work for everyone, but it's working for me now.

Do you have the .bar file to load it? I thought it only worked on 10.2?

It has been working on mine without issue for the past three leaks. Maybe some plans have it already added as part of the package.

Maybe... or maybe it was on your line from a previous device... who knows? it wasn't working for me with any of these leaks till I had them add the feature today. I know other people have been having issues with it, so I thought I'd post my resolution.

Not sure... try talking to a rep at T-Mobile and find out if your line has it enabled... that's my go-to now when if someone's having trouble. receiving "ER02 - DNS error"? That's what mine kept throwing up when I didn't have the feature.

@Derlitz ,Do you know specifically what the name of the feature to ask for at the Tmobile store is please? I keep getting d Error:ER02 DNS Error.

I'll find out. I'm just waiting for a text back from my friend, who is the rep that added it for me. Since he's still at the store, and they're probably really busy right now, it may be a little while.

I assume if you went in and asked them to add the wifi calling feature, that would be enough info, but I will let you know specifics as soon as I have them.

Which radio file are you using? when I was using the official beta 10.2.0.341 radio it wasn't working(I'm guessing since at the time of the beta release there was no wifi calling) . So I installed a radio from 10.1.0.4xxx now it works. The tmobile app has the on off switch greyed out (stuck on "on") and my wifi calling is working fine, I just can't turn it off...

So i just got off the phone with T-Mo Customer service and she said she was unable to add to the code due to the phone not being compatible with the wifi calling feature. As of right now, i can get wifi calling but the quality is not as clear (sounds tiny) compared to making phone calls using cellular. Also when dialing out with wifi calling its completely silent on the phone until the other party answers, is that normal? Thanks

Well I've been using 10.2 for a while now and the radio I'm using is 10.1.0.4538 from OS 10.1.0.4537.
It's been great since I've loaded it so I never updated.

The silence while on WiFi calling is happening to me also (been using WiFi calling since the 4537 leak) but my calls are, if anything, clearer than when only on T-Mobile's cellular only. And I never even asked anyone at T-Mobile to add or change anything.

That's why I suggested not calling customer care, but instead going to a store. They don't ask as many questions, and if you insist they add a feature, especially one that's free and won't effect anything in a negative way, they'll usually do it without hesitation. As for call quality, I honestly dont know lol. I never make or receive calls, I just needed to be able to send and receive sms/mms without finding the PERFECT spot in my window where I actually get cell reception.

Also, in response to your first post, I made a test call, I heard it ring before the call connected and the other person sounded perfect (until my signal was fading and I got the warning beep).

In order to activate WiFi Calling on TMO you need to call Customer Care or go to a store and have them add your home address to the e911 notification field. Once that occurs a restart should activate WiFi Calling

Hmmmm...maybe the silence is due to my account not having the soc code attached to it

You can also add or edit the e911 address from the website, but that didn't work for me, personally.

Okay, so this sucks... Went to bed last night, happy as a pig in **** that my wifi calling was working, woke up this morning and it was still connected. Rebooted my phone, and now I'm getting the 'Error: ER02: "DNS Error"' again.

Needless to say, I'm disappointed. I honestly thought my solution worked and was going to help other people. I haven't given up yet, maybe there is just a hiccup in the network somewhere and will be corrected soon, but I'm not sure.

    I hope I didn't waste anyone's time.

I was able to get wifi calling on 10.2 by using a 10.1 radio. However late last night it showed an error but by the morning it was working so maybe its a tmobile issue
