I used Sachesi and I installed this on my AT&T Z10, removing the two T-Mobile specific .bar files.
It seems to works great so far.

I want to thank all the "old hands" for making this available. Today was the first time I ever used Sachesi to load a new OS.

Using the excellent instructions and information available on CB made it comfortable to do,

    Thanks to all of you.

Anyone know how to get this for the Z30 through Sachesi?

You can get it on Sachesi with the following information.

    Country: 310
    Carrier: 160
    Device: Z10
    Variant: STL 100-3

    or

    Device: Q10
    Variant: SQN 100-5

If you prefer loading your OS from scratch, here are the Autoloaders:

    STL100-1: http://l.bitcasa.com/hhb7C4c2
    STL100-2/3: http://l.bitcasa.com/X_x_owAf
    STL100-4: http://l.bitcasa.com/RyrGKbdy

    Q10/Q5: http://l.bitcasa.com/f6dhsLbp

I get this error when extracting the zip file above:
    "Extracting Z30_10.2.01.2228_STA100-1-2-3-4-5-6.exe Unknown compression method"
Do anyone else have this issue?
May I ask if you have been using 7-Zip ?

Download either of the Q10/STL100-3 file sets, then once it's all downloaded, delete qc8960.wtr-10.2.1.2229-nto+armle-v7+signed.bar (Q10) or qc8960-10.2.1.2229-nto+armle-v7+signed.bar (STL100-3).

Download this file, put it with the rest of the OS and load as usual:

    Code:

Yes. That's the error I get from 7zip. I download using Chrome. Both bitcasa and megaupload.

Of course I forgot to remove the radio file and loaded the downloaded bar files for Z10 on my Z30 using sachesi. I encountered the BBM error 004. So I just used the autoloader (radio only) 1056 then reloaded the correct radio file for Z30.

Up to now I know of the Autoloader method and Sachesi methods, is this simply a variation of one of these ??
My post (http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...l#post10120005) is related to the software updating procedure using Sachesi.

To begin with, a complete software release package (e.g. Software Release Version: 10.2.1.2156) is comprised of a core OS .bar file (e.g. OS Version: 10.2.1.2228), a radio .bar file, (e.g. Radio Version: 10.2.1.2229), and application .bar files.

Sachesi nicely emulates over-the-air software updating procedure by downloading all these files from http://cdn.fs.sl.blackberry.com/ , for instance

updates.txt created by Sachesi for Q10 SQN100-5 (with the Grab Links button)
updates.txt created by Sachesi for Z10 STL100-3 (with the Grab Links button)

When you compare updates.txt for Q10 SQN100-5 and updates.txt for Z10 STL100-3, you will notice that all files are identical except for RADIO files. (Even the core OS file is common . . . please note that such core OS file DOES NOT work on Z10 STL100-1 which is driven by different CPU hardware.)

T-Mobile (the only carrier which has so far released Software Release Version: 10.2.1.2156, OS Version: 10.2.1.2228, Radio Version: 10.2.1.2229) has been selling Q10 SQN100-5 and Z10 STL100-3 only. So, those who do not use Blackberry 10 devices NOT distributed through T-Mobile have to be a little careful when they update software.

Q10 (all models) and Z10 (STL100-2 and STL100-3) are straightforward . . . they can make use of such files as meant for Q10 SQN100-5 and Z10 STL100-3.

Z10 (STL100-4) must use a different RADIO file, while Z10 (STL100-1) must use a different RADIO file as well as a different core OS file.

Z30 (all models) must use a different RADIO file.

    P.S.

As for application .bar files specific to T-Mobile, please refer to

    What Is Wi-Fi Calling?
    T-Mobile: The Wi-Fi Calling Carrier!

and ignore (or remove from the download folder \10.2.1.2156 created by Sachesi) Wi-Fi Calling app (tmowificallingsettings-10.1.1.127-nto+armle-v7+signed.bar) unless it is supported by your cellular carrier.

Please delete T-Mobile My Account app (mytmobile-1.2.2401.0-nto+armle-v7+signed.bar) unless you subscribe to T-Mobile services.

Please also note that Slacker Radio (slacker.radio-1.0.0.9998-nto+armle-v7+signed.bar and slacker.radio.bb10-1.0.0.268-nto+armle-v7+signed.bar) does not work outside United States and Canada.

i have downloaded it 3 times without success... no folder, no file, nothing wherever the sachesi file is located. I'm stuck. I don't want to use autoloader.
The folder containing the needed files are not in the sachesi folder or directory but it is in your downloads directory or wherever you specify all your downloads to go. If you did not specify anything before, then it should go by default to your "downloads" directory.

Once everything has been downloaded, click the "Install" tab in Sachesi. Then, when you are already in the install window, click install "folder" and look for the specific 10.2.1 folder in the Downloads directory. Make sure that your phone is connected to the computer via USB, and make sure that BlackBerry link is closed and not just minimized. Otherwise, you will have error messages.

    Good luck.

US TMO Z10 here. When I did the update it went fine but when I went to BB World and did an app update one of the things I saw there was a Blackberry Android Runtime.

This is a known issue - many people reported being offered the Android runtime via BlackBerry World but it is an older version.

Some have said if the device is restarted again this does not happen.

In any case, as a general warning, do not "update" the runtime this way after the install of 10.2.1.2228 or you may end up with an older/inferior one not matched to the OS.

I'm confused. Used Sachesi to extract the bars from Z30 autoloader and it installed them but I'm still on Z30STA100-5/10.2.1.2141? Am I missing something here? It updated the bars but not the OS?
You can't update the OS by extracting the BAR files from an autoloader - the BAR files in an autoloader are just the "app" BARs, there are no core OS or radio files there that can be installed via Sachesi. (They are .signed files which cannot be loaded directly by Sachesi, must be loaded with an autoloader)

So what you have now is a "frankensteined" OS with newer app BAR files but old OS/radio files.

You need to get a copy of the Z30 radio file and the core OS file, then put them both into a folder and install that folder with Sachesi.

I believe links to the Z30 radio files were posted either in the OP or early in this thread, you can get the OS BAR file by using Sachesi to search for an update using appropriate parameters, then go to "Grab all links", search through that text file for the link that contains the text "coreos" and then download that file - that is the core OS file.

Also: be careful about downloading non-OS/radio BAR files from posted links unless the source is absolutely known and trustworthy - nothing prevents those files from being malicious/adulterated. OS and radio BAR files are encrypted and signed by BlackBerry and they must be authentic or they won't load. There is no such protection for app BAR files that I know of.

A short answer has already been provided by dvarnai . . . you may treat your Verizon Q10 SQN 100-2 as if it were a T-Mobile Q10 SQN 100-5.
