Hi, I desperately need need your help guys. My Q10. On latest official firmware (10.2.1) with no changes done for a couple of weeks at least.

Suddenly my BlackBerry system failed. It's like the system is not responding. I can make calls, texts and others. But most of the things can not respond. Like tones not sounding off on texts even though profile is normal and nothing has changed. All apps whether in micro SD or internal does not load. Everything is crashing when opened. Micro SD is not reading even though I tested with other devices. It seems that the OS suddenly just FAILED and stopped working. Here are a few pictures below to see some of the problems caused by the system failure:

Shoot...as I am typing this thread, I'm about to attach the pictures and screen just darkens a bit and nothing happens. it seems like system could not access anything. In the system tab under system settings, every single app is in "loading" status.

I've tried resetting the phone a number of times, hard resetting, doing a battery pull for 2 hours. The last thing I would do is reformat/reload the os. I can't take the pressure of losing my files. Especially my contacts as I had hundreds of hours fixing my contacts. We all know that BlackBerry has a number of issues with the contacts and a backup may still cause problems.

Anyone, please help. What a way to end the year.

Backup immediately everything you can, it can be memory chip failing. Reload the OS, but don't restore anything for now. Test the clean OS for a while. If same thing happens, it's a hardware issue. If the phone works fine, try to setup the system from scratch, don't restore the backup. Something got messed up with the previous OS.

    Hello man,

    Backup your device.
Sync your contacts with a cloud account or export them somewhere.
Take all your media to your sd or an other device to loose nothing.

Wipe your device with SIC Multiwipe for BB10.

Get the latest leak autoloader (10.3.1.1949 for now)

    Load it to the device.

    Do not restore anything.

Sync your contacts and copy the media you want to have on it.

If the problems are still there than the phone has to be repaired.

My advice is to reload the official OS release, the latest leak is still in testing stage.

Instead of full backup via Link, try to do a one way sync to MS Office Outlook (for Contacts and Calendar). Works even when Link isn't reading device data.

Else you'll need to sync your contacts, calendar and notes with GMail, Outlook etc. and wipe your device. That's the only option left (which would work) :-)

before when i was still using link for backup of contacts, it always creates blank duplicates of my contacts, does it still do it then? and how DETAILED AND ACCURATE does link backup and restore contacts? even with the bbm, the labels of the phone and such are restored AS IS when i restore them back?

by the way, i have some of my contacts in gmail. how does one restore those gmail-synced contacts? and how does it look like when it is restored in blackberry, is it the same as the way it was before? from labels to names to bbm contacts and all?
