I don't think this is normal, but I have no idea why the system is so big. I'm on 10.3.0.1154 on my Z30.

Okay. Why does snap take 500MB now? It isn't supposed to.

My snap app is 16 mb and system is 2.6 gb. Is that all cached files and downloads? That's pretty hefty. Maybe the system has a bunch of emails with attachments or messages with a bunch of pictures also. That's crazy high!

I got some big Android apps so I think Snap is fine. But the system files are way too big.

    Hi,

It goes with all interactions between your apps, apps' files and the system. You might have restored apps and binary files.

You have to clean up cache, apps data.

If this doesn't work, you have to wipe device reinstall os and DO NOT restore apps or apps' binary files !
    Reinstall apps from scratch.

    Take me updated

System should be less then 2GB, if it exceeds this it means you have installed multiple OS on the system.

This happened to me earlier this year. I downloaded the 10.2.1 update around 3 - 4 times (because it kept failing after 99%) and then it said I have no more space.

So if possible to a clean install and it should take away the issue. Obviously system cashe is very high

    Offtopic:

But even I'd like to know.
    Is it possible via Sachesi?

Does it work like in BlackBerry OS4-7 devices we could remove the unnecessary clutter via BBSAK etc

That was only 500mb, so that doesn't really explain it :P Already did a clean install yesterday, still no idea why it was this huge.

Android apps cause System to go really high, there is a folder called MISC in the device, you might wanna check that folder when you have lots of android apps, it gets to 8 GB alone

Loading OS only via sachesi can get rid of it. Once it installs an OS BAR it restarts and clears the install cache. A failed installation caused this to happen to me. Figuring out how to do non destructive updates to load an OS BAR through sachesi is worthwhile. People say autoloaders are faster but I disagree. After backing up all your apps and files and setting up the new OS and then wiping before restoring and yadda yadda. Can't be bothered anymore. Lol. Maybe once in a while just to freshen it up ill start from scratch. Loading leaks can induce a lot of bugs.

They're not copied, they're just shortcuts. So android apps can access them

They're not copies. They're simply "links" for Android apps to be able to see them.

Oh, thanks for the heads up guys, I didn't know this is how it works.

If BlackBerry10 had all the apps and there wasn't any Android runtime, I'm sure the OS would have been a lot more stable.
