OK, then give me your credit card information, SSN, and all your passwords to all your apps. Save me the trouble of getting that info from the other end.
But that's my point. Look at the security breaches just from the last 24 months. My point is that most of us here are or will be compromised in the next 24 months through data breach that shares more private info than anything Google collects from my phones.

This is a value judgement. Both are issues in my opinion. Think about the person that is completely, 24/7 attached and signed into google services and I could disagree with your statement re the size of the compromise.

For the average person, the impact of her CC being stolen from a Target is enormous compared to the actual impact of being in Google’s indexes or a tiny factor in Google’s calculations.

    It’s not really comparable.

The Healthcare breaches have compromised my SSN, DOB, physical address and such. I have at least two entitlements for credit bureau access paid for by the breached companies including wife and 3 kids on my health benefits. I don't think anything on Android can really compare.

What or how could Android get to info not even on my phone. Besides even if stored on phone, my info now is already out there from hacked info? The Equifax breach was huge... 100 million ++

It depends what information you're trying to protect. For me, I care about protecting my company's intellectual property, our communications with clients and their data. I have no reason to believe that any of that has been breached, and I'm certainly not going to expose it unencrypted by failing to use our VPN.

There's some truth in what you're saying, but it's not a reason to justify poor Internet hygiene.

There are many things you can do to help increase your cybersecurity profile and protect your privacy. I recommend reading

Now you're saying I'm unclean..... LOL I agree but I guess once I've been compromised my client data on my side of the phone. When I access vendor sites to manage client account, I can only assume safe because the vendor only provides access via Android/IOS to vendor database / system. Besides, as long as I uses the approved vendor systems, my E&O covers me...

Still, I'm clean and so is my Internet...

    Well kinda.... Porn is porn......

This is the same argument about Android developers porting over their apps to BB10 in 2013.... before GPS was really a big thing. Sure is sounds simple, but it pretty clear that "any" extra effort just wasn't worth most of their time.

Could it be done, yes.... any reason to expect them to do it? Not unless you live in a market where GPS isn't allowed, China, Russia...
Wait. GPS, not allowed, Russia... What do you know about GPS in Russia what I do not know?

Since I'm here in Florida, I'll give you Cuba but I'm not sure North Korea is as nice right now. Perhaps it's nicer in the summer and I saw the wrong brochure.

Never been there. I live in Soviet Russia. We usually drink a liter of vodka here every day, there's a nuclear power plant in every single house, bears are walking down the streets with balalaikas, and Lenin is still alive!

I went to school in Miami for a few years. That's a big reason I live in Tampa area. I grew up here and it's crazy enough here on the Gulf Coast. I've driven a lot in both NYC and Miami. I'm not sure that one is any better than other.

When my son was a teen ager he used to go onto bulletin boards (before the 'Web). We live in Northern Canada.
He would get ahold of Americans and regale them with stories about how next week he was taking his dog sled team down to our provincial capital city and trade them in on a truck!

They bought it - hook, line and sinker.

I live in a town of about 5000 and I'm getting grumpy if I have to wait for EIGHT cars to go past so that I can get off of my street.

My mother-in-law lives with us. One recent trip out west we had seen about 10 vehicles in the 1st 3 hours of the 4 hour drive.
She's a city person and was really struck by how few vehicles - I had to correct her - for this stretch of road, that was BUSY.

I can't even imagine trying to drive in NYC ... it would be an ALIEN experience!

I think having you drive in my part of Tampa Bay alone would blow you away. My area of unincorporated Hillsborough County is made up of 5 zip codes. My zip code is close to 50,000 people. Our area of Florida is considered open compared to South Florida.

I used to laugh at big city folk when they would make fun of my area 30 years ago. We kinda were a cow town back then. Now, if my area (Brandon) incorporated to a city, we could exceed population of Tampa (next door).

    All perspective I guess..
