    Hi all,

My school network supports 3 different types of VPN:

    L2TP/IPSEC
    PPTP VPN
    OpenVPN

It does not appear that BB10 (10.1) supports any of these.

Is there any BB10-supported VPN that can connect to servers using any of these standards?

IPSEC using L2TP is ridiculously stupid. Who came up with that crap? If you're going to use IPSEC (which is somewhat of a pain to set up!) then there's no reason not to set up IKE for keying and be done with it -- correctly.

    PPTP is ridiculously insecure.

OpenVPN is secure but TCP-based, which has its own set of (performance and roaming) problems. Good for fixed devices (e.g. your machine in a coffee shop) not so good for a phone in the pocket that is (or might be) moving.

I'd harass them a bit as if they have IPSEC going putting IKEv2 up is not hard at all.

Unfortunately these are the only options I have :/

I'm assuming that the gist of your message to me is "your school uses crappy VPNs, but unless they change them, you're sh** out of luck"? :/

Looks like the leaked version of 10.2.1 has limited OpenVPN support.
