Why the hell is this still hounding me? I thought there were some tweets that indicated it was a mistake for the game center to have been baked into the OS. If you ask me, it's the single worst "feature" on BB10, and something that doesn't fall in line with the rest of the ethos.

It was all the talk, then people forgot about it. We had tweets from higher ups who didn't realize it couldn't be deleted. It is a damned virus if you ask me. Telling business contacts that I'm playing games. Thanks Blackberry.

Wipe, and never open Games app (so it doesn't connect to bbm), or try open the games app, and then menu-edit profile, and try to change public profiles to off.

Ps. I might be wrong, but you might be able to remove it using Sachesi app? Cmiiw

If you sideload the Games bar file first, it removes the permanent flag and allows deletion

So, possible? Side load games bar and overwrite the built in one, and remove it?

Yep. Works perfectly. You can also do this with other icons that are marked as permanent.

It keeps a kind of diary of your gaming activity.
    - Which is oddly useful when you look back and try to remember something like when you last visited your mother-in-law.
Oh yes that was the day I spent 2 and half hours on Bubble Breaker.....

    Ouch..
For my defense, I only give an idea to remove the games app, not saying I use it
No games on my phone though, not saying that I don't like games.

Sorry for my previous too-sensitive-reply Benjamin_NYC, peace ^^v

I just leave the Games App as it is. I don't know why people are minding it when you can simply not use it. Just my 2 cents though

Because once you run the app, it will connect to bbm, and will post things like when you play a game, and friend can see it on your timeline.
Worse, you can't disconnect the games app from bbm afterward, unless you wipe and never run the game app.

Some ppl just don't like to tell friends when they play, and what game they played.

+1 to the explanation of cuek80
Another reason is the confusion it is causing. I have not ever connected the game center to BBM, but it is there. Every time my son asks if he can play a game on my Z10, I am sure to hear "Dad, there is something wrong".
Yes, he will get eventually how to exit it, but I do understand the frustration.

All you have to do is set the timeline thing to only share stuff with your Game Centre friends. Open games, 3dots, profile.

The fact that BlackBerry believed that its user base would want an app that published their gaming info onto their communications platform (BBM) just shows how out of touch with reality they have become...

What's especially upsetting is that if you don't want to enable the app, it will hound you and open up every time you try to launch a game. So very obnoxious.

I've never encountered anything like this on any other phone, let alone a Blackberry that is oft used as a business device first.

It's like Blackberry wants to punish its users for playing games by embarrassing them.

Yes. I haven't used the app or set it up, because I did not know what it was originally. But it does annoy you anyway when starting games. Intrusive.

Incredibly annoying. It launches every time I start my Solitaire app.
