Hello and Welcome to CrackBerry!!!
If you need any help, we will find you a solution or point you in the right direction!
As for auto downloading of attachment, I have found no way to stop that in the two months I have had my phone. However, doesn't mean that there is no way. We will see if someone else has a better answer for you.
You do know the downloads all go into a folder so that you can find them there to move or purge?
Tks Jaydee but actualy dont know where the attachment be stored.

I think it's device/downloads
See if that works.

Are you using pop? If yes change your settings to imap as with pop every email will be downloaded with the whole attachments automatically.
Sent from my Z10 posted using the CB10.
Agreed with POP most likely causing the attachment to download because that is the nature of POP, to completely download the email (including attachments) off the server.
I use ActiveSync for two accounts (one BES 10) and am prompted to download attachments as they are not automatically pulled down.

Hi,
Sorry for reviving an older thread.
How do I change my email from POP to IMAP?
Couldn't find anything under edit account settings on my BB except for something that says "IMAP Path"
Thanks guys!
I'd guess you'd need to delete the account from the device and set it up again. When you're in settings > accounts hit 'add account', then at the bottom hit 'advanced' and then IMAP.
You have to delete the account and recreate it using the IMAP account option when using the advanced email setup.
That's what I did when I found out my ISP offered an IMAP option. But not all ISPs do. Some are still POP3 only.
Make sure yours does. Look for your ISP's online help. They will tell you what the IMAP mail server name is you need to use. It's not as simple as checking or unchecking some option in an existing account.

There's an option also to stop auto download of photos though.
