I believe that is how the actual Android app works on an android phone/tablet. However, the Android player in BB10 is not the same way. I believe the runtime in BB10 emulates an external SD Card but that path is actually stored on the internal memory.
I could be completely wrong about all of that, but I know that when I had Spotify running on the 10.1 BB10 android runtime, I downloaded my playlist and it saved to my internal memory.
Awesome thanks man!!!
Awesome work dablessing, really appreciate your work and I will definitely try it tomorrow and give feedback.
I hope we will get it to store the songs for offline listening.

The only apps of mine that show up are the ones that i sideloaded with a token. Are yours sideloaded with a token?
Yes, mine are side loaded with a token.

Just curious, but could this method possibly work on other apps with storage issues?
I have an Xfinity app that can't access it's own storage directory for some reason and won't fire up. Would be nice to use this same method to get this app going as well...

I have a Nexus S and just compared the file structure of each device. That plus the thread on spotify community helped lead me in the right direction. It's worth a shot though.

It worked. You genius!
Had to completely create the folders as they were named differently on my SD card for some reason, but it came through!
aaaand it just stopped working for no apparent reasons... :(
USE DEEZER that was the trick 4 me
And I'm down again as well.
Spotify will work for a few minutes, then stop. When I restart the program, I get the WSOD. Restart it again, and I get this:
Attachment 190353
When I reboot the phone, the entire process starts over. Extremely frustrating.
Too bad Deezer isn't available in the States or I would've jumped on them already - but Rhapsody is, and it's looking like I'll be using them for the foreseeable future. Nice service, but re-creating over two years of saved playlists on-the-fly is gonna suck out loud...

I've got this to work as well. From what I've seen and I'm surprised no one else has seen this is that When I am not on Wifi Spotify tells me I do not have an internet connection. This does me no good. As soon as I enable it it works. I have ATT. Anyone else have this issue?
Yeah, I have the issue as well where it stops working. I can't figure it out. I'm hoping someone with a bit more android experience can lend their expertise and help us figure out why this tunnel keeps getting blocked.

The more I think about it and compare my nexus S and my Z10 file structures, there must be something that is limited in the BB10 runtime of Jellybean that IS 10.1 didn't do. I know that is obvious, but I don't know what all BlackBerry locks down in the OS that The Spotify app needs to call upon to run.

Spotify is working with 810 runtime, thank you!
What does this mean? Sorry... I feel like a noob.
One fix I have found to fix the Spotify app after it has stalled is to go to settings in the app, and click delete cache and saved data. This will reset you to step 1. You will then have to go back to Ghost commander and recreate the Storage and Users folders, but I have confirmed this works.
It isn't pretty and is annoying, but it will allow your app to work again as far as I can tell.
FYI, don't clear data from Ghost commander! I've found if you do that, you'll break the app to where it won't even load and you'll have to delete/reinstall(sideload).

OK, I am just thinking out loud now and maybe my thoughts will spur some debate as to how to fix this app permanently.
Why does the app work after a fresh login, and then it stops recently after? I just tested this. I logged in fresh and started playing a song. Everything worked. I then immediately closed the app, and then reopened it. It still worked and the song played again.
I then closed the app, responded to an email and a Facebook post, then reopened the app. Now the app is non responsive.
This leads me to believe that when a fresh login is performed, all required android services are running. I believe that even though you may close the app on the BB10 interface, the android app is still running. I guess there is some switch in the BB10 android runtime that kills off the Android player after a period of inactivity in order to save our devices resources. My guess then is that when you reopen the Spotify app, not all the required services are restarted (I'm thinking a service that connects the app to the internet).
Maybe I'm way off base, but this is my only logical reasoning that maybe this is happening.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Use grooveshark ;)
Wow, stepped away from the thread and came back to a lot of progress! Possibly even progress that leads to helping other apps.
Great job dablessing. I'll start messing around with this tonight

Yeah? What steps did you follow?
Dablessing thanks for ur efforts!

So I finally got this working, and am having the same problems with playing stopping in the middle and unable to resume. Not sure what is going on there. The other thing I noticed was that the Battery was getting crushed and I could not shut the app down even when Spotify was not started using the new App monitoring tools in 10.2. Webplayer still works, but that is not the greatest solution.
Just adding the Storage and Users folder worked for logging in v6.6.270 on my Q10.
But I did not need Ghost Commander at all! The 'Android/misc' folder can be accessed just fine through the native file manager. I just used that to add the folders.
Update 2: Nope, running into the same issues as everyone else. Problems resuming, no offline sync (tried to create Spotify folders on device as well, no improvement).
The way I see it, there is probably another folder/file missing somewhere.
I posted this on another thread, but seems this is the best place to put this:
To Confirm my previous post, I have not found a way to keep the Spotify app running after an initial log in with the method of creating Storage and Users folders.
However....
If you don't mind putting in about 30 seconds of work everytime you want to stream Spotify, you can do the following to get it to work. NOTE: THIS DOES NOT ALLOW FOR DOWNLOADING PLAYLISTS OFF LINE. IT ONLY WORKS FOR STREAMING WHILE UNDER A DATA CONNECTION.
After you have used the Spotify app for the first time after creating your directories, you can close the Spotify app. Go to the Blackberry File Manager --> Device --> Misc --> Android --> Android --> Data --> com.spotify.mobile.ui --> files --> spotifycache (or cache for some version of the spotify app). Now, in this folder, delete the Users folder, Storage Folder and a file called offline.bnk.
After you have deleted these, create a new folder for Storage, and another for Users.
Now, the next time you open your Spotify app, it should pull up the Login screen for a second, and then bypass that right back into your Spotify playlist page, and all should be working. If not, go ahead and login, and it should work.
IF YOU DO THIS EVERYTIME AFTER YOU LISTEN TO THE SPOTIFY APP, IT SHOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM NEXT TIME YOU OPEN THE APP.
I know this is a crummy way of having to use the Spotify app, but its the only way that is working to an extent. I find this better than nothing!!!
