If all your phones do this with the same set of headphones...perhaps it is the headphones.

Stupid title... your the only one with that problem and you make it seem all bb10 phones manufactured have your issue. Then non - blackberry users see stupid titles like that and start spreading crap.

I'm a convinced supporter of earphones and did never have had this problem, in any of the 10.x releases I did use on my Z10.
Before pushing out alarming titles for problems that not only appear to be limited to a single, but that also was self solved, I did suggest to ask before affirm.

Troll. You post something inflammatory that is clearly an issue with your accessory equipment and never reply? Lock this thread.

I have owned a Q10, a Z30 and now a Classic. ALL three phones have the exact problem: sometimes earphone will only have sound in one ear. It will take a couple of re-plugging the earphone for both side to work properly.

I mean, seriously BlackBerry? This is the most basic of the basic functions in a phone...and yet you can't even get this to work properly? I have NEVER had this issue ever since 3.5mm earphone become universal (like 10 years ago...)

Things like this really makes you lose faith in BlackBerry...I don't know how long I can put up with this earphone problem...

I have 7 BlackBerry 10 devices here and NONE have this issue.

Never had this problem on a BlackBerry.

Had it on two iPods in a row though, because I use them for work and would often sit or kneel on them. It caused the headphone input to deform so it could not make contact all around.

I'm pretty sure it's just your headphones or the elements that you are exposing your phones to.

Thanks,I thought it was me,I used to be a DJ and have slight damage to my left ear being exposed to the loud music, the other ear was protected with a headphone,so as far as I'm concerned you make a good point ,I have to keep pressing it in my ear to get all the sound.I don't listen to music on my phone but I tried it
and didn't like the experience, maybe I'll explore some other buds, thanks again. Passport and Z10
After all the comments ,it seems as if my ear is really damaged,I was sort of hoping it was the buds, haha,

I have a pair of "Weird" (I think that is the brand) headphones that did not work properly in either my 9900 or my Z30. They work perfectly everywhere else I use them. I wouldn't have known that they didn't work in the z30 but I lost my BB issued phones. I now have a set of $20 Sony phones that work perfectly in the Z30

Thanks guys, I guess I was frustrated because it happened quite often. I read all the posts but Keith_w has nailed my exact problem: I did not think it was the earphone's issue (or my own ear ftm) because these exact headphones works perfectly fine everywhere else! (laptops, ipod Nanos, 3DS, even airplanes..)

But when I plug this earphone in any of the three said BlackBerry devices, this annoying issue just appears all of a sudden every now and then...so it's just frustrating.

Not a troll here, but sorry for the misleading titles. But I never knew earphones would "pick" hardware...now that's a first (or second, since Keith has similar issues lol)

I have a number of Z10s and Z30s. No issues with headphones on any of them.

BTW, the earphone jack is a common off-the-shelve component. It's not like BlackBerry builds them in the back room.

Maybe try a different brand of headphone.
