    Hey all!

Ever since installing 10.3 leaks (.296 .700 and the latest .1052/1130/1154 combo) I haven't been able to send emails via the SMTP server on my local ISP's POP3 account.

I do receive the incoming emails via pop3 server, and even though I am using the same settings for the SMTP server as I have on Thunderbird (where I can send email on this account without an issue), I get a "General failure" message and a red circle w/ white bar on the message on BlackBerry Hub.

The emails don't get sent via my Q10, they do on mozilla Thunderbird or any other similar program.

Any ideas? Anyone has had the same happening to them?

    Cheers!

I'm not having any issues with email currently.

Have you tried deleting and re adding the account?

    Thanks guys.

I have triple checked the email settings, all good and the same as in Thunderbird for Mac OS (that sends email appropriately on the troubled account).

And yes, I have removed and re-added the account three or four times now.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Check the SSL/TLS for the server, it can play havoc.

The configuration suggested by the ISP is to use port 25 without encryption, so no TLS/SSL...

I've had no trouble with it; my transmissions are all encrypted and they're working fine.

    Return-Path: <[email protected]>
    Received: from [127.0.0.1] (localhost [127.0.0.1])
    by fs.denninger.net (8.14.8/8.14.8) with ESMTP id s81MWEQ7054908
    for <[email protected]>; Mon, 1 Sep 2014 17:32:16 -0500 (CDT)
    (envelope-from [email protected])
    Received: from [127.0.0.1] (TLS/SSL) [192.168.1.24] by Spamblock-sys (LOCAL/AUTH);

Just sent a test message; the phone requested (and got) TLS/SSL (STARTTLS)

(Spamblock-sys is my own code so I know exactly what that header means happened :-))

It might help us more if you can tell us your ISP/mail host is?

    Sure

    Smtp.vtr.net port 25, no encryption

When setting up the account it works alright, it's just that when trying to send the email I get the error...

I also did a quick telnet querying of the server, these are the results... on port 25
