    So im a heavy Skype user and the performance of this app is horrid. Even transitions between screens are painfully s?w. What's more, the top left corner of my Q10 gets super hot and battery also drains way faster.

    Anyone else get this?? Why did they even bother??

    Well it is a preview. I'm okay with the slow transitions but battery drain is harder to forgive. I don't get much though or it's that noticeable. Think about it, it's better than having no Skype at all. Technically, it's a 100% Skype improvement.

    If the final release is slow then that's clearly a problem. But a preview will surely almost always have problems (for any software).

    Best way to help is send a bug report to Skype so they can prioritize what to fix in the next prerelease preview version.

    I thought the real Skype is available with Q10. And the Preview version is for the Z10 10.0 phones only?

    I can't even get the s/w to log in, never mind work (slowly or otherwise).

    It's only a preview, but I've still had the app crash and after closing it, my phone still though I was on a call and wouldn't allow my hdmi port to send audio to my receiver. This is both a skype and BB10 issue. Skype deleted until update.

    Just wait until BBM video goes cross platform. Skype will become irrelevant !

    Hmm... Skype chat, file transfers, and voice calls work on this ereader tablet. BBM won't run on it all all. I think RIM missed the memo that tablets were a big deal now... Not I can't use anything tied to one for factor only. Its too inconvenient.

    Video is still relatively niche especially seeing as now a ton of BBs current customers dont even have a FFC.

    The value of Skype is mostly in im and VoIP voice calls. I can call a real phone from a WiFi tablet. Bbm cant do that.
