Hey guys,
i reloaded 10.2 after reading on how to get the debug token to work on 10.2. the first time half my apps didnt work so i went back to 10.1 ( the apps needed debug token on 10.1 to work as well) so using Chrome i was able to use my debug token and bam all my apps except for Skype works. The Skype in app world crashes on launch so i deleted it and tried a fresh install but the download from app world is crashing on install. I then sideloaded a Android version that would work if i had a Z10 or 30 but on the Q the screen gets crushed and i cant dial and navigate thru the app.
Has anyone been able to get the Skype for BlackBerry working on 10.2??

Hmm, Skype works for me - App World version.
I had issues with the speaker being always hands free or headphones only on 10.2.0.810 but on 10.2.0.1047 it works perfectly...

I will guess the detail is the Android runtime...

But i have no idea why yours does not work.

Which Android version did you try??? It is well documented, within these forums, that the BW Skype does not work on Q10.

Skype worked from app world but it was very buggy and would often freeze and hang. I couldn't even stop the application from the application manager. It was one of the major battery drains I was getting, I had removed it for now.

Get the new Skype version 4 and load that via debug method. Works great, better ui.

....and they are still running 10.1. There are well documented issues with Q10 10.2 using Skype from BW.

Hi, yeah welcome to the leak portion of the forums where we do NOT support official 10.1 builds, where Skype works without issue... If you are going to be around the leak section I guess I should shove some reality in this conversation and backup PDM who I appreciate for finding the links that I didn't want to take the time to find... This is very well documented here even in its own threads...

I have a feeling Skype full will come with 10.2 and be a flat out port. It kinda makes sense. I feel like instagram may do the same and perhaps a few others. Really BlackBerry should enable native for the bug apps and get them on the platform. We can talk about getting apps when the future of BlackBerry is assured.

Unfortunately I am having the same problem. I updated to 10.2. and was never able to run skype :/ neither the BW one nor any of the ported ones. I used both the debug token method + the other one but neither of them worked.
