Is there any chance that native app comes in future?

    Not anytime soon !!!

We are only a small percentage in the market so no one wants to waste their time. Especially they keep thinking that BlackBerry won't be there for long

No, it's an android port. I don't use it, so i wouldn't know how the performance is, but going by some reports here on the forums, I would say it isn't that great.

I've used the Skype app a few times during the last week or so and it works great.

Call and Video performance is fine (for skype), navigating around the UI is not as smooth as one would hope for, but gets the job done. I wouldn't say it's a deal-breaker for anyone considering BB10 or Skype.

I've used it in the past for a group voice call.

    It does the job.

The app sucks anyway even on a native Android. Functionality is limited.

You need to sign out of the app which minimize it to an active frame, and then you are safe to close it out. This is true for many android ports like the Lync client, you need to sign out before you close the app otherwise the app stays running in the background (headless if you will) if you closed it.

Skype on Blackberry 10 OS is native?-img_20140723_235329.png

Android ported skype in bb10 sucks. It's like 2 seconds delay. Video quality and sound is fine however phone heats up too much while using skype. I used Skype at full batt then after 20 mins of vid chat it went down to 60-70 sonething.

Taskmanager seems a better solution because I will not have to type in the credentials all the time.

For the record, killing a running application versus shutting it down properly is never the preferred method. If you have a way to sign out and gracefully shut down the application, you should always take that route first. That way you ensure no files are in use/being written to when the program is ended.

Killing a process with task manager should only be the last resort.

My biggest issue with Skype is that I can't get my bluetooth hands free devices to work with it. Using it saves me a ton of money but I hate having to hold the phone.

    Personal attacks are nice.

I live in Toronto. We have great 4G service. I really have no complaints about picture quality on Skype.

Does anyone else in Toronto agree with me? Or are my standards are low? I own an ipod...does that still make me a BlackBerry fanboy?

    Posted via CB10 - Z30STA100-5/10.2.1.3247/Telus
I travel all over the US and Skype works just fine for me on WiFi. I don't get LTE on my Z30 so the experience on 4G isn't great but it's passable.

I didn't like the 4.X version through BlackBerry World, so I went and got a 5.X version through Amazon and it was a better experience.

Ignore the anger and frustration of others. :-)

Right... so once BBM video is rolled out to other platforms and the PC then maybe your suggestion would be worth something.

So don't video call them. Use BBM voice or messaging. If they want to video chat. Tell them to buy a BlackBerry or buy one for them.

Say you don't want Microserf eavesdropping on your private conversations.
