So I became of owner BlackBerry Passport and after few days I had only on issue - n matter what skype was huge battery eater, even when non using it at moment, ex. During night I lost 20% battery because of skype.

Solution is simple - uninstall your latest version and install 4.9.0.45564
A no more issues. Yes you lost some gimmick features like GIFS etc but overall it's running great, faster than latest one.

Where do you get that version? I've been alternating between the BB10 Skype versions and the Amazon apps. Both have pros and cons and none have been completely satisfactory. I do remember a older BB version working well.

Or saving battery by disabling permissions.

    mh1983,

Thanks for your input. I have a version of Skype ( that is somewhat crippled ) that I believe is a "Native App". I never had Google Play store on my Classic until just recently where I was trying to get Strava to work on my Classic.. This version of Skype worked wonderfully.. I was dumb to try and put Google apps on my phone. I am now in a jam as Skype I have is semi-crippled and supposedly no longer available from blackberry down load locations (per BB Tech Support..)..

A native BB10 designed app for skype was never built. All versions that you ever saw in BBW were ported android apps.

    Have you tried 4.9?
