Did they ever get around for fixing the contacts issue with Skype?
Specifically every time I used it in the past it would sync Skype contacts with BlackBerry against my will and there was no way to stop it.

Download via Amazon Appstore, or Snap, install the latest pure Android version, and the contact issue is not a problem.. just go t settings and disable contact sync..
What about push notifications? I hate not being able to receive messages on Skype unless I go into it!

Nope. This problem is still there.
The Android versions are way smoother but I hate Android apps.
When BBM goes full cross platform, I am ditching Skype for good.

Go to settings and disable contacts from syncing. That wasn't a BlackBerry related issue, it's exactly what Skype does with other operating systems.

I just updated my q10 to 10.3.1151 using autoloader. Now viber works perfectly, though both BB and android versions of Skype just seem to hang up the device during their launch. Is it a common issue or is it likely that I did something wrong?
P.S. Sorry for hitchhiking your thread.
The thing that you did wrong was expecting everything to work right on a leaked OS ! ;-D

Nah, that is expected :) . But this thread discusses the Skype on 10.3, so supposedly it (Skype) does work on some phones?
