    My BB10 does not support any sim card in South Africa. Running on OS 10.3.2 STL100-1. The phone is unlocked. After restoring factory settings it shows a big red X and under it is "unknown Error". Mobile network is turned on but it says "Sim card is from an unknown source"

    How can I resolve this?

    This implies you have tried multiple SIM's... but you only mention your SIM. Have you tried different SIM cards? Does your SIM work in other devices?

    From Malawi here.... it's a known issue.... no solution yet. Surprisingly you will see that Wifi works and the problem shows even when you haven't inserted any sim.

    It happened to me several times (once every 6 to 8 months) with my Passport SE. All of sudden i would turn my PP and the error would appear. " simcard from unknown source" . There was no way to fix it. Tried reboot ( hard and soft), removing the Bell simcard and cleaned it, put it back and still no work.
    The only way to fix it was to do a BB10 Os software reload using The BlackBerry Link Software in my desktop PC. After that it works fine until 8 months later. Maybe the Os gets corrupted after many turn on and off the device??? I dont know.
