    This has been an issue for me since 10.2 on my Z10. I don't have any special profiles set up but when I have the phone set to silent, sometimes it rings aloud, even on my brand new Z30 running 10.3.

    I'm unable to adjust the settings for most of the profiles.

    Can't you take the silent profile and check each app notification to make sure it's all set to no sound? If you can't edit the profiles then a reload of the OS is in order.

    All the profiles are set to silent except for "normal " and "phone calls only ". What is weird is the indication that profile level and app level settings are different; I've made no special arrangements with any specific app or contact.

    Make sure you change in settings to not adjust the media sound when pressing volume buttons and make sure it set to change the notification sound. First off , on the second picture change profile to ring and change the volume so you can hear it. On the first picture make sure the media default setting is off.

    That's because you can make custom profiles. I made that one. You can too if you just spend more time exploring.

    Open silent profile and click the reset apps button at the bottom.

    also make sure you dont have any custom contact profiles to override the profile. or possibly level1 notifications

    I've tried the reset thing so I'll wait to see if it happens again. Thank you all for your suggestions and help.
