Why all the hate on the Passport's camera? IMHO it takes great photos. Sure, maybe a little bit off-tone sometimes but the photos are sharp and look very realistic and that's what's most important.
Also, I find that Camera++ improves the quality in some cases due the fact that you can increase the resolution AND tweak a lot of the settings and variables.

I think most of the hate resides on the fact that you cannot take a nice clear shot UNLESS the lighting and other conditions are very good. Trying to take a shot of anything that is moving, even slightly, is an exercise in futility. However if you have good light and remain absolutely still when you take a shot, the pics come out remarkably well. I had an occasion at a party once where a lady with an iPhone 6 actually asked me to send a copy of my photo which was superior to hers. I had to email it to her since we could not use NFC and she could not connect to me via bluetooth either. She was annoyed because I was sharing it with my neighbor's LG through NFC transfer and her phone did not have the capability lol.

I sometimes take shots of something moving (I'm a public transport fan, mostly buses though) and the outcome is good. It's probably less good than an iPhone 6 but I've seen many worse outcomes from other phone cameras.
I agree that lighting is a problem sometimes, but it's easy to fix using Camera++ 'cause you can tweak the hell out of the settings.

I admit that some of the cameras are bad like my Q5, but none are horrible. I've found that the fewer objects in a picture and the dimmer the light, the better my pictures are. If i'm taking a picture of a boat on the water with nothing around, it looks pretty good, but any shot I take in the woods with heavy tree and bush growth look horrible.

    Unfortunately, iPhones take better pictures.
For phones running BB10 OS, the only device with average picture quality is the Passport.
