My BIL has a Sharp Aquos TV. It finds my Z10 as a media server but can't find the files. Works fine with my son's S4. My PS3 at home works fine with my settings (except for videos shot on the phone but that is a fairly well known issue with PS3) . Any tips from others? First time I see this kind of problem.

Do you see your TV on device under Media Sharing?

No, I see a bunch of ip addresses. Same as at home with my PS3 which is only identified by an ip address.

Edit: the ip address of the TV is in the share list.

This is what I see on the TV. It finds the root directory bit I can't navigate anywhere else.

Yes. It shows an unknown device with the correct ip address beside it, checked.

It's now doing the same thing at home on my ps3 and computer. Looks like a factory reset is in order.

Further update: in retrospect I wonder if the issue was that I had forgotten to take the phone out of developer mode from a previous side load. I may test later on.
