I started a tweet campaign in another post (Please continue it), and this is what I got from BB today...

    What do you think?

They'll continue to develop for existing devices, but there's no plans for new at this point.

It is well documented that BlackBerry has committed to at least one, if not two, security/maintenance patches - the first of which will be in March.

The only other specific statement is that the Android Runtime will no longer see any development.

I say there is nothing there to really get excited about other than security updates.

Anything to keep me from going back full time to the awful android experience I am currently temporarily using.

Do you work for BlackBerry? If not, has some employee from BlackBerry told you this? Unless any of those is the case, we don't know what BlackBerry is planning behind the Waterloo walls...

One doesn't need to work for BlackBerry to safely answer the question "is development on BB10 ceasing?" with "not for the time being". It's been brought up several times already; they're not dumping previous devices suddenly just because the Priv exists.

I think the further development will depend on sales, people who love BlackBerry won't buy unless they continue to keep making them? (BlackBerry 10, that is.)

I just hope this all works out, wish I'd bought two Classics when I bought one, cuz I've got the Blue and I want the White, and now they are not for sale at BlackBerry anymore, and not cheap nor easy to find elsewhere.

White Classic and a Silver Silver, and then I'll have it all.
    and one more spare Q10.
