Just wondering if anyone was able to setup a VPN connection with BB10. I'm using private internet access and tried a couple of settings and was not able to make it work..

Hey Bla1ze, I'm sure it's just a matter of setting the correct options... I was looking at the android setup of PrivateInternetAccess and I'm not sure about some items..

    server address = us-east.privateinternetaccess.com
    gateway type = ???
    authentication type = ???
authentication ID = generated a username and pass from privateinternetaccess
pass = generated a username and pass from privateinternetaccess
    ...

let me know if you have any details or info that could help, thnks!

From looking at their client support page PIA supports OpenVPN and L2TP/IPSEC. Neither of which are currently supported on BB10. Use PureVPN as many including Bla1ze have suggested here. I use Witopia and have been happy with it. Or pick another provider the supports a protocol that BB10 does as well.

Amazon free for a year and run strongswan using the script on this forum.

Hopefully in a year, there will be consumer options.

I only see 3 server locations for purevpn for BlackBerry (U.S., Canada and Romania).
    Is that correct?

If you're talking about servers with IKEv2 support so you can use your BlackBerry, they also have one in the UK. That is one reason I use Witopia, and I've set up an Amazon EC2 server using the script BCITMike mentioned.

I use witopia.net. Works very well, consistent and good service, and of course compatible with BlackBerry 10. I am using a basic package.

That's the only setback with Purevpn, only those three servers are available for BB10 users.

Now I can't decide between witopia and purevpn. Leaning towards witopia because of more server locations for BlackBerry 10. Anything else that should sway me one way or the other?

Some people have been concerned that their US business locations make them susceptible to a national security letter to wiretap your traffic.

Well I know Internet share the app lets me use my home socks5 proxy, I think you can switch it to PIA's. I honestly forgot how it works.

Damn, just bought PIA. I thought BlackBerry is able to use l2tp just like any modern phone. One more minus to my bb. Btw opened a ticket at Pia support.

They say they don't support BlackBerry at the time and have no plans of doing so. Why didn't I find this thread earlier((
P.S. They say there will not be consumer Vpn support even in 10.3. Gonna sell this unusable piece of crap.
Pps. Just found VPNme app in bbw. Easy to buy and configure and very cheap price. So I guess I'll use VPNme on phone and PIA at home.

How are the server options on VPNME?
Is the app easy to manage options on?

Their BlackBerry AppWorld entry doesn't have a website of theirs to take a look at for more info.

Yes, both on my Z10, PlayBook and Win7. The free plan has limited servers that you can use.

I recommend hide.me. They offer a limited free service (2gb traffic) but this is perfect for testing. I would never use a us based service because of privacy concerns.
