Smartphone enthusiasts sometimes get too bothered by what others think. Why does the camera and the Verge logo make it more valid?

Much ado about nothing. BlackBerry had more to do with ensuring device success than any reviewer does.

This isn't about "smartphone enthusiasts". It is about people who genuinely want to learn about these devices, and tech sites, a point you left out, are the places people usually go. The Verge comes up near the top when you search by smartphone topics on Youtube often. Same for Google. The Verge video on the Passport has the most views of any at the moment I do believe. Why do you think that is?

Same can be said for the anti-enthusiast. Laying a protective shield where one need not be. Tech sites giving obviously bad advice and reviews put themselves out there in the public to be called on it. I don't see the problem with that.

I like the reviews by David @verge but honestly I was surprised when I watched this. Of course is his opinion but maybe he is right for most of YouTube views. BlackBerry is a nice device but now is for very selected people. When you buy a blackberry you should make a agreement with your self that you wont enjoy photos, videos, youtube, games and instagram as much you do in iPhone. Sometime is funny when I say to my friends please send messages to WhatsApp, not viber because there is no viber in BlackBerry. Maybe also for other applications as well, and can you imagine that im saying this to someone who has an android phone which cost half of price that I purchased Q10.

Klob... I don't really see what you say... I enjoy photos, video HD, youtube, games and instagram on my BB10 with no compromises... I also can have Viber on it.. (but I don't because i don't like it or whatsapp).
I have a better and safer OS with no compromises at all... And... I have the hub, a full featured BBM, great battery life, great radio signals... So... I really don't see the point.!
